If Wes can stay healthy next season he’s going to make LCFC a lot of money.

Definitely reminds me of a young VanDijk.

The type of player who ‘glides’ across the pitch seemingly effortlessly, with pace in abundance and skill on the ball.

To be playing this well so soon after that horrendous injury is ridiculous really

Will go on to become a player at a top European club

I really hope he stays healthy and stays at the club making our fans happy. He will leave at some point but I hope it’s later rather than sooner.
i honestly think he is better than Van Dijk at the same age. At 21 he has quicker feet and all round game.
In a split second against villareal I went from joy and dreaming of glory this season to one of anger and heartache. That he has come back in form like this is remarkable. I agree that Evans always makes his defensive partners play better but I think the same applies to Fofana for the whole team.

Evans played a massive part in us getting 80m for Maguire!

True to an extent. He gets a lot of undeserved stick though. He was always slow but he has a lot of good qualities though. Manure seem to be a graveyard for talent. He really has lost it recently. Evans was much underated too whilst there. Will be interesting playing Roma coming up against smalling.

He could be the ivorian franz beckenbaur and I'm serious. Way better than van dijk at same age.. If he continues anywhere close to his current trayectory he'll be a possible goat cb. Way better than van dijk. Hope he gets there for all parties involved. Seems a great kid as well.

I think he's the second best centre back in the Premier League. Not in terms of achievements to this date, but what he can go on to achieve. He's elite.

He's gone after next season if he's healthy.  And it should truly be big money - he's the sort of player any megaclub would love to have.

This tackle changed the game. We literally went straight down the other end and scored. I love him so much

It seems a long time ago now since that fateful day at Forest in the cup

Thank God

Obviously that’s the most likely outcome but what would you rather have. Sell him for £100 million next summer or keep him and enjoy him for another three years and sell him then?

Personally I would rather keep our assets on the pitch and strive for further glory. I don’t get this obsession with speculating about a players potential transfer value. It only encourages more speculation. Enjoy the here and now and talk about it when it’s done.

In a rather strange self harming sort of way, it was (in hindsight) the best thing to happen to us all season.

That's not going to be up to us.  As Wes showed with St. Etienne he's extremely ambitious and when he wants to go, he'll push hard.

How isn't he widely acknowledged as the best young defender in the world, there's nobody even close. Saliba isn't a patch on him and he's having a monster season.

We have been blessed with top players in the past. But to have had 4 truly world class players in last 6 years. JV,  Kante, Mahrez and now Fofana.
If our back 4 had stayed fit all season we would be pushing Spurs for 4th.
Fofana is absoloutly magnificent in full flow.
and he is only 21 wow

For 2 reasons. First, because he doesn't play for a Greedy 6 club. And secondly because the English media are more interested in trying to convince us all that Mason Mount and Declan Rice are generational talents.

I'm glad in a way but it'll happen soon enough, he's absolutely unbelievable.

Agree. Fofana is so good that I find myself shaking my head and laughing at some of the things that he does, just as I did with Kanté.

For all the plonkers saying injuries shouldn't make a difference to our season, just watch this guy, then watch Jonny and have a word with yourself.

Add to that Ricardo and Castagne being injured for very long periods. And you lose 4 top top defenders. Them 4 stay fit we challenge for champions league

Agreed other than I’d want way more than 100m, guy could go to Real Madrid and be best defender in the world for next 10 years we’d be getting ripped off!

I’m sure he could be better than Van Dijk, but way better?  That would be likely the best CB of all time.

I would not be surprised in the slightest. I would wager Fofana is ahead of where van Dijk was at , and he seems to have come back a better player after 7 out with a broken leg? Stupendous

That's not surprising, Sometimes players can learn more by sitting in the Stands watching whats happening on the Pitch than by playing all the time.

They develop a better understanding of the game which serves them well for the future.
