I think he has very high standards and ambitions, so how shite we are currently probably isn’t making him think he wants to be here for the long run.

hopefully I’m wrong and just the annoyance at today’s game talking.

Our best player today (again), shame he didn’t applaud the fans at the end tho.

The only players to applaud the fans today were those who played crap. I applaud Wes for what he does on the pitch during the game.

Make the most of seeing Fofana as he won't be here past next summer. As much as I hate to say it, he's far too good for us!

So is Vestergaard at the moment.😂

Just had tight calves, had a late fitness test and deemed too much of a risk to play tonight, be fine for Sunday

Rodgers said last night, fofana had said he had tight calves after the Everton game, so given he knew this, and given that I assume he was always going to have a late fitness test, why did  we have a spare place on the bench last night?  There were a number of squad players he could have put on standby for the bench, or even one of the under 23s. It makes no sense to me.

I assume you have to submit the squad well in advance of the game and there was no time to fill the last spot by the time Fofana was confirmed out. Not a big deal, we have like 9 subs and only made one anyway

Not 2 days in advance. What I'm saying is, that Rodgers knew there was an issue straight after the Everton game, so I assume they had planned to give him a fitness test anyway, so why wait until it would be too late to draft someone else onto the bench, if that was the case.  Yes I know we have other subs and we only chose to use one, but there was an opportunity to at least give an under 23 the chance of place on the bench, and given that we were comfortable, could even have given them 20 minutes at the end of the game.

The U23 played at Brentford on Tuesday - maybe those who could have stepped in played ??

Wasn't a league game though was it? So again, knowing that Fofana was a doubt, and that he didn't want to use any of the first team squad that he could have put on standby, he could have took one of the lads out of the under 23 game, that as far as I'm aware, was of no importance, and gave them a chance.

I think he had no intention of using any kids yesterday - seemed clear he had decided (or it had been decided for him) that it was must win

He does. One sub last night with Vardy hobbling for last 5-10 minutes

Why was he hobbling when it was his wrist that hurt? Weird; or are just inventing fake reasons to prove a point?

It was.

You only have to look at the bile that was being spat in the match thread to know what it was like in the stadium. I was there and I think it would have turned pretty toxic if we’d lost

Unfortunately the people calling out to play kids and rotate the squad will also be some of the same people who will be first in the queue waving their “Rodgers Out” flags as soon as we lose

Probably because he is our best player and he wanted him to be involved.

Not sure how one rules out the other, just bring one of the kids for the match day experience and tell them they might be on the bench.

Either people are really poor at being organised or I over simplify life lol

It is a bit strange I have to say, especially in light of the article about possibly giving U23 players some minutes before the end of the season. That player (Alves) could have come on at 3-0 and we'd have won 6-0. Annoying

although in fairness it was  a DB ‘injured’ so if anything he’d have needed a defensive substitute. But we already had cags on the bench for that. Maybe he’d worked on different tactics for the week with the players already on the bench. But yeah, hurts no one to fill an empty space. Even if it’s just for the experience of being with the first team. That alone can be a motivator for a young kid to keep on improving.
