Easy to forget everyone was saying Lampard had done a good job in his first year at Chelsea dealing with a transfer ban and integrating youngsters.

Lets see how PV does in year two. He's first year a Nice was pretty good, but year two saw him sacked.

Yep, this is always my point about consistency. Being consistent is the hardest thing in sport and Rodgers has been consistent here over three years - we've battled for top 4/top 6 and, more importantly, won trophies.

I like Vieira, because I liked him as a player, and I hope he does do well as a manager but lets remember this is his first season at Palace.

I realise this game isn't as important as PSV but i believe the last 10 league games will go a little way to shaping us for next season.. seeing Daka make more of an impression for instance ...so getting knocked off the ball by palace wont help get that upward curve back again. Our target should be 50 plus points

Which is why many managers don't last 2-3 years.

One of Sir Alex's biggest strengthen was to realise even successful team need to be refreshed and rebuilt.

I'd be very surprised if we don't get 50 point plus, even in our crap runs of form we have averaged 1.3 pts per game, that would be 13 pts from the last 10, which would see us hit 50 points.

Ideally with the fixture we have remaining and a squad returning to good health we need to be aiming for 55-60 pts.

I would say Vieira considering Freedman has been in that role for the past 5 years.

Vieira has got rid of so many aging players and completely brought their average age down. Also the signings from Chelsea have been great.

Gallagher might be worth a bid as I can't see Chelsea sticking with him.

I would have thought Gallagher to be out of ours and Palace's price range.

Depend on Chelsea new owners.

Who knows if they want to support Chelsea financially like RA, they are likely to lose Rudiger and Christensen on a free, so will be in the market for a couple of quality CBs, they may need to raise funds.

Pervious rumours of them being interested in Soyuncu, so maybe a  bargaining chip.

We haven’t played the game yet. We have figured it out before and will do again. Viera has done a magnificent job with the tools available and bought in some great talent. We could have done with ndidi in this one but our defence has been strengthened with returnees and we have guile and potency going forward. We won’t out muscle them though we can get through them with our quick passing triangles and direct running on the flanks. Will be a good game but my big fear is we rest too many for the return leg. It will be a good game though

Arsenal did not have a bad game?

They were shocking, especially first half. Players were giving the ball away constantly.

They were awful  so bad the manager had to apologise for  their performance  against a side  who gained their first home win this year

Go to London. You'll either be mugged or not appreciated.

Catch the train to London, stopping at Rejection, Disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams Parkway.

Is it a rough area?  Still rather live in Crystal place than Elm Street or Cloverfield lane mind.

Croydon not the best. Have to say I've nothing against them as a Team and their fans are some of the most enthusiastic. Would love to see them dump Chelsea out of the cup.

I'm not sure what our price range is anymore.  I'm guessing that how many we sell will directly influence how much we can spend. It's a World Cup year so he will want to play regular football & I'm not sure he will get that at Chelsea.

Chelsea may be forced to sell anyway if (fingers crossed) their takeover gets delayed.

That doesn't mean he will be cheap

Olise out for Palace for this game

He came on and completely changed the game at their place

Big boost that is.

Palace used to be a huge bogey side of ours until Rodgers arrived and since then we've largely had their number. Would be nice to navigate a win in between these two PSV games but hopefully we give the likes of Lookman, Hamza, Daka and Ricardo some game time.

Well, let's remember that Crystal Palace FC is not actually in Crystal Palace, but rather Selhurst, which is a bit of a dump - much akin to many places in Leicester.

Crystal Palace the place is relatively expensive compared to neighbouring areas because of its glorious park, 'triangle' of antique shops, independent restaurants and pubs.

Any fans care to admit they arrived at the wrong Palace on match day?! It's happened to many a fan!

On the latter point, when l lived in Anstey many years ago, a carfull of lads from Coventry being late for their match stopped and asked me where the Rolls Royce sports ground was..... Ahhh i sez, thats in Ansty... Go back the way you came about 40 miles.... 🤣
