Jon the Hat Posted 7 June 2023 Posted 7 June 2023 The independent saying Newcastle and Spurs interested. More likely to win something with Newcastle.

The nice thing with a deal with any of the very big four is that they will have players they probably want out on loan in the Championship anyway. We should be looking to do deals to get some effectively first team ready players in, with the PL side continuing to pick up their wages. I'd want Oscar Bobb and ideally on a 2 year loan, but maybe we could pick up two or three.

Love it if Maddison joined Spurs - would give him a nice nod and a wink in a few years when we win our next trophy and he’s won naff all.

Just a teeny bit more likely. Probably the league and the Champions League. That blood will never wash out though.
lcfc043 Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 Percy: Tottenham Hotspur are set to move for James Maddison but have been warned that the transfer fee will be over £50 million. Maddison is a priority target for new Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou and the England international will be sold this summer following Leicester’s relegation to the Championship. The attacking midfielder has just over a year left on his contract and Postecoglou has given his new club the green light to make an offer this month. Leicester are ready to demand a significant fee, however, and it is understood their initial asking price is over £50 million. Though there is an acceptance that Maddison can leave the club, Leicester are insisting that his market value is high due to a number of factors including his statistics, position and ‘homegrown’ status. After signing Maddison for a total £25 million from Norwich City in June 2018, there is also a 15 per cent sell-on clause from any profit which will go to his former club. 3
Popular Post Tuna Posted 8 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 8 June 2023 Can easily see Maddison starting the season with us as we won't budge on the asking price before he goes on the last day of the transfer window. In reality, we should be looking to get him out of the club as soon as possible so the new manager can plan and we can use some of the money but you know it's Leicester City under Rudkin and Whelan so there you go. 5
Lionator Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 To be fair Madders is a very Spursy player. Psychologically weak when it matters. 2 2

He's a master at the dark arts of winning free kicks which can be invaluable in big games. In a team like Man City he'd get the space required to show him at his best. They have Grealish on the left but I could see Maddison going there also. ...why would you look to play Maddison in a wide role!!!

An Sionnach Posted 9 June 2023 Posted 9 June 2023 Surprisingly , he is likely to choose Spurs if the money is right. The CL is not as important as some think.
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 9 June 2023 Posted 9 June 2023 Beundia went for £40m from a relegated Norwich and hasn’t hit the heights Maddison has statistically.

If he has any brains then he will choose Newcastle, he can spend the rest of his life living his life in London if he wants. Newcastle will just keep spending in ways Spurs probably never will, not only that, they seem to have theirs heads screwed on all around. 1
