....I get the feeling he will go 3-5-2!!!

                      Kasper

     Fofana   Evans    Soyuncu

Ricardo  Youri  Maddison  KDH  Castagne

                Nacho   Vardy

There is no way he will want to lose the first leg, and he will be looking to control the game. Try to keep it all compact and hope we do not concede.

On paper 3atb should be a great fit for our squad. We have solid wingback options, can play two strikers, etc.

But we’ve had so many poor performances playing this system, it makes me nervous whenever I see it!!!

Trying to play it with no CBs in the squad won't have helped.

When is the last time BR played with 2 up top? I think those hoping for a xxx2 formation are in for a disappointment

Napoli 2-2 (H), Palace 2-2 (A) , ManU 4-2 (H), Spartak 3-4 (A), Brentford 1-2 (A), Arsenal 0-2 (H), Spartak 1-1 (H), Liverpool 3-3 (A), Liverpool 1-0 (H).

...who is the DM in the diamond!!!

Surely we give up the wide areas against a 3-5-2, where we will struggle to contain their Wing Backs.

Who are you playing upfront as Vardy is now an option but recently back from injury. Nacho and Daka maybe not a balanced pairing (that's why we wanted to see them together this season) so could Perez be part of the plan.

Schmeichel

Ricardo

Evans

Fofana

Castagne/Justin

Choudhury

Tielemans

KDH

Maddison

Iheanacho

Daka

I spent a bit of time this morning analysing Roma's defeats this season. They have huge problems against teams that deploy 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 (or a 3-4-1-2). When I'm saying huge I mean proper HUGE. Their quality in front means that they score in most of these games though but they don't avoid defeat.

Wanya cannot play DCM, he's a good option though as a RCM.

Could have sworn he played at DCM vs Watford

Yes he did but he's not a midfield destroyer, his best attributes are running with the ball and forward passing. Braybrooke might well develop in to the sort of deep lying DCM but probably more in the Tielemans role than Ndidi.

I fancy us at home, their away record in Europe isn’t great.

I’ll see you in the “Ever obliging Leicester city” thread on Thursday 10pm then 😉

We’ve just played 3 meaningless games in the PL, without trying 3 at the back, no way will we just switch it up for a European semi final.

If there was any chance of changing the formation we would have experimented in one fo the last 3 games. The formation will be the same as usual, and I would imagine the starting line up will be the same as the line up away in Eindhoven, except for possibly Lookman for Barnes and Vardy for Iheanacho.

Apart from against Bodoe they have won every away game they have played in Europe this season.

For clarification, that’s Trabzonspor, CSKA Sofia, Zorya Luhansk, Vitesse Arnhem that they’ve beat

It is, but the quote was they’ve been por away from home, that would imply losing or at least drawing a lot of games. They’ve beat everyone apart from Bodoe who have been put in front of them.
