Got a feeling he'll go super conservative and start with Jonny, Wes and Cags in a back 3  Don't know why but just have a suspicion he will.

Can see him matching roma up as well yes

2nd leg yes, but I hope he doesn’t in the home leg. Let’s be proactive. Let’s win the game by utilising our strengths.

A 3412 with Maddison as a 10 behind Vardy and Nacho might give us more goal threat than this 433 formation featuring 4 central midfielders and an out of form Barnes.

Was literally just thinking that.

....I get the feeling he will go 3-5-2!!!

                      Kasper

     Fofana   Evans    Soyuncu

Ricardo  Youri  Maddison  KDH  Castagne

                Nacho   Vardy

There is no way he will want to lose the first leg, and he will be looking to control the game. Try to keep it all compact and hope we do not concede.

Absolutely with you and BR if he chooses 3-5-2 after watching the Inter-Roma clash. Maybe Justin instead of Castagne. Nacho and Vardy in front. Go all in the 1st leg.

I want to see some ambition to score goals in this. I really can't see us going to Rome with a deficit or level pegging and having the bottle to get a result.

Start Nacho and Vardy together and let Maddison be the architect centrally.

Finally if we do take the lead in the tie the manager needs to resist from applying the brakes. Go for the win and be confident.

I think switch to 352.

I've always been a fan to be honest. Some of our best performances have come in this formation.

A cross between 3-5-2 and 3-4-2-1

I’m always wary of matching up to the opposition because I feel it shows a degree of weakness and surely compromises what is your best set up

however, without wilf and papy we don’t really have a preferred formation that works (more especially away from home when teams are likely to attack us)

With away goals not counting, you would expect Jose to be cautious and try to go back with a draw/one goal loss. But he will have seen how successful psv were at opening us up in the first half at the KP and could look to replicate that Schmidt approach. in that case, maybe a 3 atb would serve us better, especially in the first period. I really don’t like playing youri screening on his own - he doesn’t appreciate the responsibility enough to not be drawn out of his area and we have no cover.

3-5-2 is a bit risky for sure as we need both our FBs to have an almost perfect game. On the other hand it's obvious that we struggle to create chances with the current tactics and one striker on top.

No way Vardy starts the first leg.  Not a chance in Hell.

The issue with this, certainly in the league is he'd have to make a decision on Tielemans or KDH not to be picked as a midfield 3 of those 2 and Maddison doesn't really work but he'd hate that and end up playing 3-5-1-1 which would be the closest thing to a Tony Pulis and Gary Megson hybrid.

I also thinking matching up a system Mourinho has played all season will be exactly what Jose would hope for, the midfield diamond would be what I'd go for and it will prove too energetic for Roma.

60 minutes on Thursday, rested against Spurs, 90 minutes in the second leg.

He’s been able to run for weeks so his general fitness should be good.

Don't feel for one second that we'll be them over two legs but I'm desperate for a big European night on Filbert Way as I think it's going to be a good while until one rolls round again.

Would be absolutely delighted if we simply scored to take the lead, anything beyond that would be a bonus.

...who is the DM in the diamond!!!

Surely we give up the wide areas against a 3-5-2, where we will struggle to contain their Wing Backs.

Who are you playing upfront as Vardy is now an option but recently back from injury. Nacho and Daka maybe not a balanced pairing (that's why we wanted to see them together this season) so could Perez be part of the plan.

To be fair I felt the same way about Rennes and PSV.
