I have always supported Brendan but was hugely disappointed before the match that Soumare was selected to start instead of Mendy. His performance did nothing to change my view that whatever he did in a one of game v West Ham was indeed the the very rare exception rather than the rule. Another of Congerton's poor signings.

I've thought he was terrible since the start of last season. I think the first match, vs Wolves, he did ok, but he has been doggo since then.

 

He is so slow and ponderous.

 

He is one of countless demonstrations that our scouting has gone to crap.

The most frustrating thing about him is it’s his laziness that lets him down. He had a weird 10 min spell just before he got subbed where he suddenly decided he wanted to finally run after the ball but was too little too late. Not good enough sadly.

I seriously wonder what BR sees in him, given he's been played so often. In a sense you can't blame a player who isn't up to this level, you have to blame the boss who keeps selecting him. Unless there is something vital we are all missing.
