Just my gut feeling.

This will happen, and pretty soon.

Sainsbury's do great Gut Yoghurts if your not feeling well.

It's a tough one to have a strong feeling about either way since we don't even know for sure what position he would primarily be brought in to play....

If the fee is around £9m I think it could be quite a smart move for us, not seen enough of him apart from his games against us but his numbers look good and seems relatively low risk.

Hopefully this isn't our marquee signing though 👀

Is he versatile? I feel given our lack of signings he probably needs to be someone who can play right or left, or even centrally. I don't remember too much from our games against Rennes to know if he'll be good enough. Doesn't strike me as a game-changer signing but seems pretty low risk.

As far as I know, he's an 8 or a 10 who just had the best season of his career on the right wing.

I have to say, even though it may smack of fan desperation, I do like the look of this lad. He's not left footed and I'm going to die a very sad, bitter and lonely purveyor of the ultimate flair but if he comes in as a replacement for Perez and Praet I'd be happy.

He's more productive in terms of goals and assists than those two at least but doesn't have the Knockaert/Mahrez excitement factor about him and seems a little late to be coming to the PL after spending all his career in France, wouldn't be surprised if he's unsettled within 6 months. 🤔

We want to pay 8m but can’t until people go the other way? :revenge:

Well, that is Palmer-Atkin's opinion...the "people out the door" problem seems more based on squad space than money woes. Although seeing your  replacement come in should help motivate you to find a new club!

That's probably more to do with having 27 senior players already. We can't afford to have players sitting about unregistered regardless of what our finances look like.

Don't believe that for a second, maybe if we were talking about spending 50m but not for this deal.

Probably more to do with the wage bill. At some point as Rudkin you've got to put your foot down and say we need players off the books before new ones come in. Bertrand, Vestergaard, Praet, Soumare all going to cost the club a lot. Especially when KDH just signed a bumper new deal.

Would be a good signing who would add better quality and depth to the squad. Be good competition for the RW and 10 position in the 4-2-3-1 and good competition for the 8 positions and RW in the 4-3-3. The only downside is he is 28, but I suppose the low transfer fee makes it lower risk

Rodgers can't complain. He signed a half a squad filled with fluff. Perez, Vestergaard, Bertrand are three that are definitely his and ones we are desperate to throw out.

...you start to wonder if he is a KDH rotation player and we are now convinced that Youri will be gone this window!!!

In  a 4-2-3-1 with Ndidi and KDH as a two in the middle, Maddison where he should be, and we can have the option to play two #8s without  a DM.

With low block teams, we can do without the DM and have the added creativity but I would be even more convinced if we brought in a RW who can take on and go pass players.

Oh yes, he smacks of being a disaster of a signing but he's got plenty there as well to suggest he " could " fit in here. Rennes energy and aggression going forward blew me away to be honest, I'm staggered we handled them after that opening 15 minute onslaught at home and large chunks of the away game but we handled them brilliantly. His pressing, movement and end product though could be a shrewd purchase. I'm in.

Oh but he will.

Two things he says every season.

'Were limited in terms of finances'

'I wanted (2 more players than he got) this summer'

Then when the window closes "we're happy with what we've got", like clockwork

I'm Rodgers in but you're right. His cognitive dissonance on this sort of stuff is really weird. Was the same when he was at Liverpool.
