I can't claim to be an authority on Bourigeaud but he scored as many goals last season as Praet has in his entire professional club career and I suspect he's probably about equal for assists as well. If we're looking at two very similar players but one regularly scores and creates goals and the other doesn't, I know who I'd rather.

Apparently he's on his way to the KP now.  He's crossing THe Channel as we speak...

To be fair to Praet though... He's never played an entire season wide right in the French league!

Great point.....with all the excitement about a potential signing ...I kind of didn't take into account the differences of playing in each league.

Lets not forget Praet spent 6 seasons in the backwater which is Belgium football.

As reported by Le10Sport, Rennes have offered star midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud a new contract in a bid to ward off the interest of rival clubs.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been one of Ligue 1’s standout players this season as Rennes challenge for Champions League football but, with his current contract up in 2023, a summer move away has been in the offing with Lazio after the Frenchman as a possible replacement for Sergej Milinković-Savić. Roma and Real Betis have also been linked.

However, Rennes have made contact with the player’s new agent over a new deal with possible Champions League qualification a potential deal-breaker. Although, as it stands, his exit is more likely with the player keen to play overseas for the first time. With his current deal soon up, a fee as low as €10m could be enough to secure the midfielder’s services for next season.

The twittersphere seems to be hotting up around this fella. Probably just agent speak to give those actually interested a bit of a shove to get things moving but certainly seems like he will be going somewhere. 

If the fees being bandied about are anywhere near realistic we should at least be giving some serious thought to this.
