Last week I thought it was bloody lovely running in the colder, less suffocating weather.

Aye, fly to Greece, running along the Rhodian coast with a headwind yeah the heat was something else this morning. Hopefully come October I’m breathing better

Properly buggered my ankle at 5 a side last week, so I'm out for a good while. Pretty gutted tbh as I was making some decent progress.

5 a side is so risky for this… I’ve had to give it up in favor of running. So easy to go over on the ankle.

The pitch I was on was almost brand new, properly deep pile and stacks of crumb, it was so soft. Prefer them when they're worn in a bit for the exact reason you mention.

I had this in Naxos last week. Was meant to do 17 miles but bailed at 10k after having visions of that Dr bloke that died of dehydration just going for a walk.

Gonna try and target a better half time myself now man, best is 1hr42 flat, I think sub 1hr40 is achievable but don't think I'd ever realistically trouble the 1hr30 mark, simply love curries and pints too much

You're a year older than me. I don't drink so least have the no alcohol on my side 😂

Yeah sub 1:30 is rough. My Strava prediction is sat at 1:31 right now I think, that's a bit generous I think although think I can do 1:35. I'll get there eventually I'm hoping though with more effort and training. I got there with sub 20 5k so hoping can hit my other targets

That's the main issue for me brother, my hobby is cask ale. Running very much a means to an end when it comes to working off bevs.

I did 17k last year in Croatia and it was horrid even with the wind and the early morning

Building up to the Leicester Half, so usual longish run today, 15.5km with 5:19 splits, if I can keep that up for an extra 6K or so then that's a shade under 1h 45 for the Half - which id be utterly buzzing with. Imagine it won't turn out like that on the day!

Gorgeous, gorgeous running weather this morning too, finally!

Fair play. I’m way off that pace at the moment.

Doing 10k this morning in Rhodes was a dance with the devil

Have been struggling to get motivation to run lately in favour of bulking up a bit instead but mainly because I hate running in heat.

Went out this morning with an intentional slow 10k and remembered why I love running. Sometimes I forget that I don't need to push hard every time and today I just kept it steady. Ill probably take that mindset into the Leicester HM this year and not really care about the time and just enjoy the day (until New Walk incline)

Yeah totally this. Always occasionally do this. Get the speed down, pick a pretty route, no headphones, just get into the groove. Coastal routes are lovely for it

Anyone else massively disagree with knocking off x amount of minutes theory from a training run for race day?

I don't think it makes any difference unless you've got massuve crowds thst simply won't let you give up. Most of my best runs are training runs where I feel good on the day and just smash it. Don't think i've felt good once yet when it's come to doing a race so that's quite possibly why 😂

Harry Styles, the latest ****er, I’m jealous can run like the wind. Sub 3hr marathon in Berlin

He ran 3:20 summat in Tokyo in Spring and had basically given up all work to focus on Marathon running. Fair play.

29m 06s.

I was chuffed with 31m 18s last week.

I think Strava is playing up as my first 400m was 15s, either way it's quicker than I thought I'd be able to go.

Colder weather helps no end as well as shitt*ng your pants running past spooky bushes in the dark.

His pacing on Berlin was incredible which suggests he could go quicker

I’ve been looking at a Garmin Forerunner 165 music as a treat to myself, can anyone recommend this watch or suggest better running watch for similar price? Can’t be doing with taking phone on runs now.

Garmin is great for battery life but I ditched mine and the amazing 7 - 10 day battery life for a Samsung watch which is loads more friendly apps and real life uses and I'll never go back.

The ability to have the same apps on your watch as you do in the phone is simply great. Especially things like Google maps, hiking routes, music, assistant, voice typing and recording.

Downside is that I charge it daily when I shower and once a week charge it for an hour or so.
