Gonna be genius from Rodgers when we conspire to lose to Everton, so Leeds go down and we can sign Raphinha on the cheap to solve the long standing RW problem we’ve had. Followed by the title next season.

Playing the long game…

Sooner Everton stay up than Burnley personally.

I think we have a heightened opinion of that. When we beat Spurs at their place last season, we stuck 11 behind the ball and got two goals on the counter attack.

I know quite a few that made a point of watching our games as they loved our brand of football, win, lose or draw.

We are so bad now, many of our own fans don't like watching us

Why? Burnley have been playing much better football since they finally got rid of their dinosaur manager.

Our problem is from making the pitch smaller  and consequently limiting the amount of space we have to play in, by trying to push up from defense when we have the ball, players like Vardy thrive on space, we’d be better off by imagining the halfway line is half way in our own half.

Not a bad result to be fair. I thought we would be smashed at least 6….

On to Thursday, we already knew our back up squad were crap.

The back up players are alright if you have to play 1 or 2 of them in with first teamers. But when you are playing 9 reserves out of 11, any team, bar Liverpool or Man City, will be weakened considerably.

How did we pay 20 million for Daka?

£23 million and a nice 5 year contract at about £3 million a year. Actually for a striker that is cheap.

After today, I'm giving up all pre match superstitions, and rituals, after the run we've had in the Prem this season, and all the injuries.  I've decided it doesn't work

Who is actually bothered? The big game is Thursday, we knew this prior to today. The failure to do basics well has cost us but equally, that was pretty much our second team. Bring on Thursday, it would be nice to get to 50 points but Europe is an obvious priority.

Only realised today that my plan to stay in Rome for a bit after the game means I'll miss the Everton game next week. I think I'm ok with that.

This is entirely Rodgers' pattern of play that he wants from us, and it isn't nearly creative or opposition restricting enough.

My gripe isn't that we lost the game, it's just that I hate those days when you see the line-up and you just know we're getting nothing from the game. I get that Roma is the one but still, as a fan, it's not a great feeling when you see the 11 and you just know the game's gone before it's even started. I stopped watching at half time as that team were never going to get anything from today. Disappointing

Several of the "second team" players acquitted themselves quite well...

We just somehow did not jell as a TEAM, and the sloppy goals changed the dynamics.

Agree that some players did okay. The lack of coherence was inevitable with so many changes and unfamiliar partnerships. To go away to a big 6 team with pretty much a full reserve team would be too much for the squad depth of all PL clubs bar the top 2.

My word, watching us play is bloody painful.

BR has officially morphed into Puel.

No urgency, aggression, and passion.

I just want them to mix it up a little.

Ive never known us have a manager that still has so many fans on side yet he is almost blatantly happy to throw certain games with his team choices and tactics.

And the media and many fans still lap it up

What would you like to have see him do? Honest question.

Spurs could have been really got at today, they would have been feeling the pressure as they haven't been in the best form lat couple of games and they are battling for the top 4.

I understand he rests a few, but that being the case mix it up and fvcking give it a go especially after going a couple down...but no all about possession

If they'd dropped romero, dier, hojberg, kane, kulusevski, son and bentancur it might have been a worthwhile fixture.

The club should reimburse anyone who travelled. We threw the game.

Reimburse anyone lol

As if. I'd say look at the bigger picture. We've not thrown the game but we have prioritised the obviously more important game on Thursday.

Did make a similar comment after we signed Vardy? Just interested.
