I guess they clash with Forest. So there would be three teams playing in the same city (same as Leicester with Tigers). So neither really work.

Righto cheers

I can’t remember why this never happened in the end, was it fan opposition to it? Or was it something else? I seem to have a vague memory of our league rules meant that we’d have to have priority on fixture clashes. Ether way it was a terrible idea and was a move that tigers would have used to try and take control.

I can't remember exactly what finally stopped it. Both clubs were adament that it was going to happen dispite opposition from fans of the clubs. Ultimately it may well have been the fixture priority clash as you said.

It was actually Tim Davis that was pushing for it from LCFC not Paul Mace as I thought although I think he may have had a role in it.

Just log their players, as themselves, into an adapted FIFA SIM and play virtually.

A trail run for the next pandemic.

Failing that, the local police would have the deciding say anyway. They wont want the DLF (Decripit Lunatic Fringe) damaging local pub tables with spilt half pints of mild week in, week out.

At least we know pub windows can withstand garden furniture but seems a hassle all the same

A small town needing the tourist income or already broken Coventry would be best options

Yep in terms of who needs the money most then Wasps would snap their hands off to have another tenant at the CBS.

If they had to come to Leicester i'd rather they played at Welford Road than Filbert Way.

They’ve got a substantial fan base, so will be looking for a stadium of similar size I’d imagine.

Imagine the irony of them getting promoted back to the Championship, whilst playing at Leicester.

I don’t think the Derby hatred is as bad as Forest personally. It was proposed Forest move to the KP when they were in trouble. What’s more it would irritate Forest more if we supported Derby, as they still try and belittle us for going into administration and not facing more severe punishment.

In reality, if we could make this work, if would mean increased income for the club, city and local businesses. It’s extra cash in the coffers for the rebuild and would plug a financial gap with us missing Europe after a poor season.

Derby might need to subsidise Derbyshire County Police to support on match days, as it would have previously been a revenue stream for them. It isn’t unheard of.

It’s doable, if we believe we can maintain the pitch to a good enough standard. We’ve less games next season, so whilst it adds increase workload, we do run training academies now at Seagrave for this sort of thing, so we would have the links to potentially recruit additional staff to support this.

I believe the Ethiad is owned by Manchester City a council now.

St James is owned by Newcastle City Council.

Leeds Council owned Elland Road for years, with Leeds paying rent.

Derby CC owning Pride Park allows them to use the venue for other things.

They pay all the costs and we get rent plus ticket sales, advertising etc. Milk them dry and fund the signing of one or two of their promising young players. Sounds like a fair deal.

Honestly at this point, I hope they just go bust.

Play stupid games and win stupid prizes

Rivalry adds to the atmosphere of when we do play.

Look at anticipation for our game against Forest, then what it meant to them by beating us.

Leicester need Derby in a better position, it would be great to have them Yo-Yo-ing back and forth between the Prem/Champ (Nice to see them get relegated).
