Regarding the booing, I wonder if this protest might have the counterproductive affect of making it more difficult for Ruud to drop him?

The manager has publicly criticised the fans for singling out ward.  To drop him now might look like he has been forced into it by the mob.

RvN has to react after this defeat. If he decides to stick with Ward, Ruud will quickly lose the fanbase.

He needs to show strength and drop Ward, not just based on his terrible history with the club and the fact we should have terminated his contract ages ago, but for the fact anyone with half a brain watched that 1st half display and realised he is nowhere near PL standard

That’s what I like about him, his consistency

Im genuinely baffled at how hes ended up playing at such a high level. In some ways i admire him. Must be one of the luckiest MF in history

Rvn going on about “don’t make it personal”. We’ve seen players go away, look like they are done and then come back through sheer effort. I still stand by it that especially at this club, fans will back you if you do that.

Look at Ward, fell down to 4th choice last year. Move on ? No. Lose some weight ? No. Work on aspects you struggle on ? No. He’s done **** all.

Even in the warm up today, didn’t take my eyes off him out of sheer anger that he was playing. Lazily strutting around. Couldn’t save shit. Lying down for an age after letting another one in.

He’s shit and will continue to be shit because he has no application. He deserves the abuse - please **** off if you don’t like it. And if RVN doesn’t like that. By all means mate, you can **** off too.

Exactly well said.

Ruud has got this very wrong. It became personal when Ward played too many games in the season we got relegated, if anything the fans have a right to higlight to Ruud what we think of Ward.

And yes i blame the manager more for playing him. But off the field he also sounds like a knob who couldnt care less about the team, his body language is atrocious when he plays.

Aim your frustration at the board or collectively at the end.

How would a generic boo at the end of a performance like that (which would likely be drowned out by some terrible song selection) successfully get this specific message across about the clubs persistence with Danny Ward?

Well it's clear as **** Ruud had no idea just how shit and disliked Ward is. Probably thought the boos were on today only.

I don't expect him to have done any research at all other than call Enzo to ask if the Seagrave canteen is decent.

I'm not surprised he's gone with Ward over Iversen, they're both average championship goalkeepers at best. If Stolarczyk is fit, he plays, I hope.

Iversen is miles ahead of Ward in every aspect.

And what would you know about decent canteens?

He's really not, starting either is a crime.

His kickings not for starters, good shot stopper kicks the ball like he’s got clown boots on .

It's not about humiliating the useless f@cker. It's simply about communicating to both him and the coaching staff that we do not want him playing for us anymore.

Exactly mate, today wasn’t about humiliating him & it was a step too far from those who jumped on the bandwagon and did so anyway, glad to see others agree.

Not a fan of this as it implies it can illicit change, booing from the stands does nothing and is all about self gratification and speaking to other fans. It does not cause change at a club any longer, and has not done for a long time. (For brand clubs it’s slightly different but not massively)

It gets the point across alot clearer than staying silent until the full time whistle and then clapping the players anyway :dunno: anythings better than the pathetic passivness this fanbase puts out game after game.

Iversen definitely is not better at his feet. He is up there with everyone that has rarely kicked a football. Some of the stuff we witnessed him do was mind boggling. Even Stoke were shocked by how bad he was in the Championship.

It’s alright keeping the ball out of the net, however If you keep giving the ball back to the opposition, they’ll get more chances.

Good on those who did boo - about time some accountability was taken at the club.

It's time to go for the higher ups though. They're the ones who really need the heat on them now.

I wonder if there's any chance the Premier League could fine us for playing him. Didn't Blackpool once get fined for picking a blatantly stupid team before? That may be to do with changes but surely it's bordering on bringing the game into disrepute.

Understand that some form of vocalisation is warranted at a personal level, a need to express dissatisfaction, but I am just curious who the audience for this expression is! Perhaps I am missing the point though, perhaps it does not matter and it is just a personal expression without an expected outcome.

Or it gives him the opportunity to make the excuse of 'I had to take him out the firing line in order to protect him.'

OK. Next time you go to a restaurant and they serve you a burnt steak, eat it and after you pay the bill boo them outside the premises.

You boo in restaurants?

Are people genuinely saying that if Hermansen had started we wouldn't have lost?

Talk about not understanding team sports.

we'd have drawn, because a goalkeeper with functioning arms wouldn't have conceded any of the three he did yesterday

He got a cheer when his name was read out as the team was announced. I was concerned then that he might get booed, and at that point it would have been unhelpful. But after what happened in the game, and based on previous, a clear message was needed.
