Aside from corners/set pieces had a very solid game. Are our keepers being coached to only move up and down the goal line during set pieces or something? 🤷

thought that might be the case for a while and today kind of proved it

Give him a run of games to build some confidence then judge. Must be hard to be a keeper and literally never play, then start and be straight away.

Takes outfield players time to get up to speed must be the same for keepers

Pulled off a very good save down to his left in the first half. The fact he was rooted to his line for the corners today (2 of which were landed inside our 6 yard box), strengthens my suspicion that our set piece coach is encouraging our keepers to stay on their line unless its literally right in front of them.

It is. Schmeichel, in every other aspect, is an aggresive, proactive keeper. Why would he be different for corners unless told to be?

I thought he had a good game, considering the amount of prem games he’s had.

First start in 6 years according to the commentators on my stream.

swear he’s started a game for us before tho in the prem.

Because he's a short arse, and is very unlikely to win a well contended ball in the box?

Kasper has the standing to demand it changes if he was unhappy with it, the fact he doesn't would lead me to think its how he wants it too, Ward needs to ignore that instruction and come for the ball like he does for Wales

Absolutely. We've won as many international trophies as England since 1966.

Why do you keep mentioning England? I have never once used England as a barometer of success, nor compared them to Wales. 🤷‍♂️

At what point would a Captain and experienced player stop listening to instructions

when you have conceded

5,10, 15 corner goals?

Rodgers just basically alluded to Ward’s selection being just an opportunity for him to play at the end of the season and that Kasper was aware and a part of the process.

But he ain’t exactly going to come out and say he wants to drop Kasper long term or that he’s thrown a wobbly.

Personally don’t think he could do much for their goal, corner is short into the front post and then I don’t think he can even see the shot come in

Overall I think he had a pretty good game, 3 or 4 massive saves as well

Played well today, pretty much exactly the same type of keeper as Kasper, just a bit quieter. Good shot stopper and doesn’t like to come off his line at corners.

Anybody else think he’s being put in the shop window?

Crossed my mind.

Hope so.

You don't need to when he's the Wales 1st choice.

You also wouldn't drop our captain in this way unless he's either leaving or trying to force a move.

Why hope so?

Not sure we'd get a much better backup keeper to be honest.

Like everyone here (I'm sure) I hope Iversen makes the step up, but until we know for sure how he'll cope in the Premier league, I'd much rather we keep Ward while he's okay warming the bench.

He's our new Conrad Logan.:)

6'2 according to the club site, not a short arse by any stretch.

He's just not very good claiming aerial balls. I'm not convinced its instructions.

I’d like to spin the wheel and see who we could get. Might backfire yes, but I’d like a better option.
