Did he say 'Premiership'? Is he talking about Scotland or Rugby?

....we do not have to pay him if he leaves of his own accord as he would have been the one breaking the contract!!!

If we chose to release him now, it would be something like 12 months' pay, so £10m max. There is also his staff to consider.

I genuinely think he's trying to get sacked. He messed it up last year, people want our best players and he can't cope/fix the mistakes.

....it could be, that he may not see a way out of this, and may no longer want to be here!!!

I suppose he could actually attempt to negotiate a settlement, where the amount owing to him, would be reduced and makes him available and on the market.

Because we buy for more than just immediate needs. This price is great if true. Might also free us up to release others.

Would be a great signing. Really good player and for £13 million in January we should be all over it. 
 

would be a Maddison/Tielemans replacement so getting them in early and allowing them time to settle before the others are sold/leave would be sensible
