They think that the mRNA vaccine is to blame and that those of us who use logic and who state the absolute obvious (aka the state of the nhs) are either in denial/have had our brains turned to mush by the vaccine.

Add in the rather annoying inference that decent people who just want to help other people are somehow corrupt and/or malicious and that's about it, really.

Go to your local a&e and you’ll soon see what’s causing the amount of excess deaths. There’s no staff, no ambulances and no beds.

I don't think that's because there are fewer ambulances and fewer staff in A&E.  It's more because the powers-that-be have decided that ambulances can be used as extra beds when the hospital is full, thus taking them off the road; and that as it's next to impossible to see a GP for anything other than routine stuff, people now go to A&E as first resort when they feel ill.

I'm curious..how are the strains on the NHS impacting the Dutch, Germans, ozzies, US, Canadians...and the rest who are also experiencing more deaths than usual?

Nearly 3 years avoidance, and I've now been struck down by it :(.

There is NO WAY you've avoided covid for three years, no chance in hell!! The stats about how contagious it is/was, especially Omicron 2021, are unreal (iirc). But sorry to hear you are ill, hope you get back to it soon

I was in the same boat until a month ago.

I hope your symptoms are as mild as mine were, thanks to the vaccine and to the virus being less potent now. Just an inconvenience isolating and a few minor effects, hopefully. :fc:

Yeah I'm fully vaccinated but symptoms seem quite bad. Splitting constant headache and shivering constantly. Lethargic and achy body.

Thanks :)

Sounds like me at the back end of November last year.  Similarly felt exactly the same three weeks after the booster back in Dec 2021.  The only difference this time round was that smell wasn't affected.

In Cyprus atm, seems like a new variant is on the rise across Cyprus, Greece and Portugal and the UK too.

Edit - Many more countries too.

I think Fabrizio Romano should start posting covid updates.

"New variant confirmed... here we go!"

I’m glad you think it’s funny, you’ve obviously not lost a family member to Covid.

I don't think he means any harm, it's making light of a scenario that has significantly become less deadly since 2021.

I've lost two family members to covid.

However, whilst this isn't the greatest joke I've ever read, I understand that the joke isn't 'people dying'.

Funny how this thread has popped up now, I *might* have it. We haven't got any COVID tests so I won't know.

Fever, shivers/sweats, banging headache, exhaustion and nausea.

Leaning towards Tonsillitis though as my throat is red and swollen with little yellow dots.

Either way, it's grim. I'm only on Day 3 though and am already improving on yesterday.

5 weeks in. Chest and voice still fkd.

So bored of not feeling well.

If I was 20 years older, I dread to think how I'd have fared.

But it's just am ordinary virus now, so I'm going for a drive to Bernard's Castle to check my eyes and have a work meeting.

My mother had probable covid in January but had no more than a cough, followed by a couple of falls and telephone 111 advised us to go to hospital (though not by ambulance as there weren't any!)  It was pneumonia and we got there in time.  She's 91 and fully vaccined.

If you haven't had your chest looked at, then I think you should.  Perhaps a course of antibiotics might help.  You won't be still infectious.

There is actually a vaccine against viral pneumonia, too.   The miracles of the modern world!

Last time I had it, my eyes were fooked for ages. I ended up getting glasses as I presumed my eyesight was just going a bit now I'm old, and Covid had been months ago... a few months later my eyes are fine again.

Did....   you drive to Bernard's Castle?  I hear it's a great place for testing your eyes!

People who aren't eligible for covid jabs on NHS now can get them in Boots if anyone is interested. Bit pricey (just under £100) but may well make it a lot milder and speed up recovery.
