I’ve had it twice and it wasn’t bad for me but I have to say it proper pisses me off when people act like covid isn’t a big deal. It literally killed healthy people.

Has it?  I don't know a single person that's been anywhere near a hospital after getting covid. Not one

In 2 year's

Ok fair play. Not looking for an argument btw. It's just I know so many people, work and family and plenty of old folk and nobody had even been remotely ill. Maybe just lucky

No I'm not naive at all, I live and breathe like everyone else. Chill man

Yeah not looking for an argument either but I just think just because you don’t know anyone personally affected doesn't mean it didn’t affect others. Like I said my boss Is a heathy guy but was one stage away from ventilator.

I just thought that seeing as it's the worse pandemic since the Spanish Flu I might of known someone that had been affected by it.

Glad your boss is ok btw.

I definitely think covid is real and lethal but I'm not and never have been convinced that it ravages many healthy young people, vsccinstrd or not. Of course it can kill you, and I don't think it's like the flu and I think at first the lockdown were necessary but the subsequent ones weren't. I find people are almost as bad as the conspiracy but jobs who think every precaution we've taken has been strictly necessary. You can't dispute that other health issues have plummeted in. Importance and that's killed a hell of a lot of people. The health and general wellbeing of my 2 remaining grandparents has absolutely plummeted since covid, both very healthy, one late 70s one late 80s, not being able to socialse or do the things they did to keep fit, play bowls, go play bridge, eat out with friends, it's had such a mammoth negative impact on their wellbeing and that just doesn't seem to be part of the narrative. My partner has a grandmother in Spain who 2 years ago was fit as a fiddle and now she's on her way out, and there's 6 new great grandchildren in the family she'll never get to meet, she's going to die without having that joy in her life. I just can't fathom the people who think restrictions on movement and socialising are great because it saves lives. Wear masks, get vaccinated, be sensible but it's ravaged industries and the wellbeing of so many people, surely that's worth something? I think it's worth everything.

I tested +ve yesterday, the wife did today.  Think we picked it up on holiday.

Both feel like we have bad colds and a bad throat infection.  I know a couple of other people who currently have Covid, and all are suffering with a painful throat.

Wonder if the boss will believe me when I phone in sick tomorrow, straight after a 2 week holiday?

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...

Is anyone suffering from Long Covid?  I got covid back in May and barely knew i had it, but some weeks later developed Long Covid symptoms with brain fog, tiredness, palpitations and an uneasy/anxious feeling from time to time.  If some folk are experiencing the same, any tips on recovery?  Thanks in advance.

Caught it last weekend, approximately 26/8 probably at Peterborough’s Beer Festival.

4 out of 6 of us have it.
Felt crap for 3 days (cough, high temp, exhausted), then a very sore throat.
Better now. First time, l think.

Years since I was in the looking after sick people business and i did not know all my onions then..... but Long Covid is obscure and should not distract people from seeking other reasons for cited symptons. Anxiety, cardiac arrythmias, alcoholism  and various metabolic stuff for examples . EDiT even early dementia

There is always the possibility that  one is paraniod or justifying malaise with a long Covid tag, however, there has only ever been one proven case of this and Bertrands disease is associated to knee injury.

If it persists, ask the doc for a proper check up, dont specify a test for  Bertrands disease and dont take Long Covid for an answer without proof.....

Im curious if any of you have experienced any bad after effects ? I recovered from covid last week and felt fine in the days after, even played 90mins and felt fit.

About 3 days ago, all of my muscles started to ache and ive had this on going since. Best way to describe it, is like when you go to the gym and over do it on a muscle, so afterwards every movement aches on it. Except its every damn muscle, fingers, legs, arms the lot. I think its related to covid as its quite the coincidence otherwise but ive considered whether theres a  chance ive had a tick and got lyme disease.  (Im in canada so thats common)

But im curious if anyone else had some longer lasting issues?
