A promising youngster but no replacement for Soyuncu. Soyuncu is a busted flush for us right now. Literally Amartey is ahead of him in the pecking order and it's not based on ability. He's done here. He wants to go and we want him gone. His temperament lets him down too often and his confidence has been shot since we blew CL for a second time and he then had an awful Euros with Turkey. He could easily go on to become a top CB again but it isn't going to be here, I think. It's a huge shame because he was immense when on top form and a huge part of the team morale too. But he can't attack or defend set pieces, he makes too many simple errors and his confidence is in bits. Colwill would be more of an asset for sure. 2

Foxes1 Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 If we sign him does he count towards the 25 man squad due to his age even though he is classed as a home grown player.

Call me nuts but work seriously on set pieces, get Colwill and a proper right winger in and we run top 6 close again. I don't think people realise just how difficult scoring goals is and yet even when we are in bother, we will score goals. 11

Popular Post Pliskin Posted 18 July 2022 Popular Post Posted 18 July 2022 (edited) I’m pretty sure Chelsea will be happy to loan him out with an option to buy. If he has a cracking season with us and we want to keep him, they will probably be able to increase the benjamins. I reckon Colwill in on loan, and we work some kind of deal with Monaco where we send Soumare that way on loan with an option to buy, and we have Diop back on the same deal. Top said the club had to be clever with their approach, and I can see that being the case. Then potentially in January we can sign a midfielder to replace Youri who will sign a one year extension and then leave in next summer. Edited 18 July 2022 by Pliskin 6

We will not be in for colwill at all. He will probably go to palace or some other team who have not screwed up the whole structure over the last 18 months. Some real bargains to be had this year, prices are down and we are not to be seen. I think our squad will be ok to finish top half still this year. However, we could have done with getting some more assets in for the future. How may first team players did palace lose
An Sionnach Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 I can't see Chelsea helping us out with a loan as we are potential rivals. They might sell but he won't be cheap and there will be a buy back clause and a hefty sell on fee. We need to sell Soyuncu to make it possible first anyway. 2

Getting rid of Vestergaard would work just as well, however implausible.

Chelsea won’t see us as rivals. They will allow Colwill to come to us if meet the terms of the agreement. 6
DezFox Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 We are certainly not rivals of Chelsea. I would say any of the top 6 teams would now be happy to sell to us with no really threat. Especially for players not in their plans. 1
FosseSpark Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 Potential Centre Backs: Fofana, Evans, Soyuncu, Ndidi, Amartey, Nelson, Brunt, Justin We have 8 possibles and prefer a 2 centre back formation. We are really probably only looking for Vestergaard out and 1 other in. I think Rodgers is definitely intent on coaching Soyuncu back into the team and losing 1 of Amartey or Vestegaard
