If the issue is squad size then this signing should happen. He’s under 21 and wouldn’t need a squad place.

if it doesn’t happen then we have no cash.

This scares me, we won't get him will we. I'd rather live in denial by him not leaving and then never play either and we can all get very antagonised that they didn't let him go.

Dream them big dreams Ric

It’s pretty sad to see what teams like Chelsea do to young players. He’s a genuine talent and doesn’t stand a chance in their team.

It's true but from another perspective it's perhaps the one and only time in history the trickle down effect actually works - allowing some really good young players to make it at 'lesser' teams which can then sell them for a tidy profit.

Maybe they will want to keep him

Maybe he doesn't want to come

Maybe his demands are too high

Maybe we are not interested in him

....we will then still have another player on the payroll!!!

Even if we brought in 10 more quality Under 21 players, we are going to have the ability to enhance the "registered squad", but hamper the wages bill, we can't afford to do that.

1. Obviously they'd like to keep a talent like him. But the way they're loading up on star CBs is bad news for Colwill if he wants any sort of major minutes with Chelsea.
2. He'll want to play regularly. As soon as its clear to him that he's not gonna be playing at Chelsea, he'll look for a move.
3. Wouldn't know but I can't imagine someone out of the Chelsea academy who just played at Huddersfield on loan will have outrageous demands, especially if his main demand is gametime.
4. Well we know that's not the case. We wanted him in winter, we still want him now.

This surely only happens if we can flog Soyuncu, Vestergaard or both. Doubt it will make zero difference regarding him not having to be registered, this summer looks very much a case of sell to buy.

The problem is, by the time we potentially do that, Colwill could well be snapped up and with our luck, it will be Southampton who claim his signature.

He fits the exact profile we need, Chris Richards is the only other defender I can see us turning to if this doesn’t happen.

If Colwill goes elsewhere but we end up with Bednarek, then the transfer dealings of this club will seriously need questioning.

We need to get this summer right, as we could be in a right mess next season if not.

If we're not at least partly in for this guy it's probably time to admit the ambition and/or investment is gone.

If that’s the case - it’s time to sell.

Beginning to plan out now like the club wanted which suggest you’ve done their homework on this one

They should do it themselves, lazy bastards

I reckon we’ve gone all in on Colwill, he’s everything we need in a centre back profile wise and he doesn’t count towards the 25 man squad so I’d say we’d go for him even if we don’t shift as much of our squad as we would like to.

We had our highest ever spend last summer. The problem is we've over invested in dross.

Our only players with financial value, we don't want to sell.

No these are clearly alternate lyrics to Brain Stew by Green day, which I happen to be listening to as I read this.

If we sign Bednarek and Southampton sign Colwill, what does that say about us?
We are acting like a newly promoted side. I know Rodgers won’t have a huge impact in who we sign, but he has a say, and I’m sorry but the last three transfer windows have been pretty awful.

Unfortunately, itl only get worse for a club that runs the way we do financially. Lesser clubs are getting richer and alot more adventurous nowadays with spending. I feel LCFC will need to change its model eventually to remain competitive in this league. You can already see the difficulties starting to show. I hate how football has become.

It's difficult to say where we are as we have bought some really good players and some really poor ones.

A lot will hinge on our ability to sell players we develop at seagrave to create additional sustainable income.

I thought it was ‘you were always on my mind’ by Elvis Presley
