He could have indicated he has no intention of signing any more contracts… 2
Dan Posted 12 July 2022 Posted 12 July 2022 They better get this one done. I feel like we've hinged on it somewhat.

Yes, agreed. Some time ago now and Salah, you'd have thought they'd have learned something by now. Mind you, when they do something wrong, they do it properly ... Lukaku? 🤣 3 2
murphy Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 And they bought Drinkwater. They're nuts down at Chelsea.
AjcW Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 Yeah Chelsea are crackers with transfers. They've spent £113m on Lukaku over the years and made £40m Meanwhile the other clubs that have owned him during that time have made a combined £237m 1
pkonline Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 Chelsea aren't great at developing their academy talent. They often sell them, only to buy them back at a huge price a few years later!
Clever Fox Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 I think Chelsea are good at spotting and developing young talent as demonstrated by the players who have left them and went on to have great careers. The problem they have is this, It's difficult to take a 50 to 100 million player out of the team to replace him with a Development player. He may be very talented but lacks the experience of the Premiership. Plus Seniors players may not be to happy with an unproven player taken their place. If doing so it needs to be handled carefully by the Manager. 1

They sign all the best young talent with the aim of selling 90%, if not more. If they start hanging on to everyone who might make it theyd have a squad of 65. They also wont be able to command large fees, as clubs will assume if they dont want them they arent good enough. Without the transfer embargo, you could probably add mount and james to that list. Flannel_Fox Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 It looks like Koulibaly to Chelsea is done. Hopefully will see some movement for Colwill soon 2
BKLFox Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 (edited) They are also about to re-sign Ake for 40+m the truth of the matter is they ARE a top 4 side & in the main a TRUE top 4 side can't wait for players to develop, having said that Man C & Liverpool probably can now as they have the depth & quality to cover & provide extended minutes to a young player once they are 2 or 3 up the chasing 4 clubs can't afford the time they need ready made until they are where MC & Lpool are. Which makes it all the more funny when people think we can buy young, sell, buy young, sell & expect to be top 4 Edited 13 July 2022 by BKLFox 1

Clever Fox Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 Lets hope Chelsea buy Ake which gives us the opportunity to buy Colwill. I havent seen him play but he certainly fits our requirements, Big strong and left footed. Coming from Chelsea I'd be more confident that he can make the grade than coming from some other Clubs. 2
CloudFox Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 Once Koulibaly and Aké are signed it's very likely Colwill would be available. Hopefully that's what we're waiting for...

dbtcity Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 Surely this ticks all the boxes as he wouldn’t even take up a squad spot… I get it will be an extra wage on the books but it’s just makes that much sense we probably won’t be in for him 1
LVFox Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 If we aren’t in for him then I really worry about the direction this club is on 2
Pliskin Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 It’s pretty sad to see what teams like Chelsea do to young players. He’s a genuine talent and doesn’t stand a chance in their team.
moore_94 Posted 13 July 2022 Author Posted 13 July 2022 If we don't even make at least a bid for him when he is clearly going to be available and very much fits the bill for EXACTLY what we need... 3
Ric Flair Posted 13 July 2022 Posted 13 July 2022 This scares me, we won't get him will we. I'd rather live in denial by him not leaving and then never play either and we can all get very antagonised that they didn't let him go.
