The worry for him is that why would he go from Chelsea's bench to Leicester's.

He's need reassurance that he'd play here. I think for that to happen we'd need to go full time 3-4-3 and to be honest, I think it'd work.

I quite like the idea of;

Schmeichel

Fofana Evans Colwill

Ricardo Ndidi KDH Justin

Maddison Vardy Barnes

I think he’d get plenty of game time as evans won’t play every game is my guess?

If we were to sign him he would not be third choice. He would probably walk straight  into the first team.

If Evan and Fofana are fit, no chance.

I dno, he basically looks like a left footed Fofana. It looks like him and Wes would be a lovely backline for most games.

Drop Evans or Fofana or change system?

Evans would be the one to eventually give way. This guy is really highly rated. He’s just unfortunate he’s at Chelsea who would rather spend then give him a chance.

Not to mention the inevitable 70m fee Chelsea would pay to bring yet another academy product back

I think it would be a case of easing him in, Evans still has a lot to give.

In the dream world where we did sign him, I'd be playing Colwill most weeks and then playing Evans probably in games where we intend to sit a little deeper and play on the counter.

You notice that we're easy to counter attack at times because Evans has a tendency to drop 10 yards deeper to compensate for his lack of pace, or even he hasn't been quick enough to get out and we get hit on the turnover in our own half.

When we're planning to sit in though and be a bit deeper, Evans experience and calmness at the back is still be massively useful.

It'd be nice to have different options for different types of games.

I've not seen enough of Colwill to tell if he's good enough to be a regular PL start straight away.

Options are always good.

just my opinion but if you are playing 5 defenders, there should be no reason to need wilf.

Add in a YT type and that could work but barnes would have to adjust to playing more narrow

If I were Colwill, I'd look at Soyuncu's abysmal form which shows no sign of recovery, Evans injury record where he's only ever fit if there's an NI game on the horizon, the general state of Vestergaard and come to the conclusion there is a big chance to play a lot of games for Leicester this season.

Trust me, I've just watched a 7 minute video, I think that's plenty to have decided him and Wes will result in a record "lowest goals conceded in a season" :D

Surely we can sign him... Surely we can afford the transfer fee, and the European wage cap won't be relevant this season, and by next season many high earners will be off the books, so wages won't be the worst thing either

He is listed on the agency that Brendan’s son works for and Bertrand is involved with. If we want him, I imagine we will get him.

Absolute genius move from the club, knowing that Colwill is a Saints fan and by extension obviously a massive fan of Vestegaard so brought the Dane in to give Colwill the honour of playing in the same team.

This is planning.

....more than likely getting 20 minutes every game if not starting games instead of Evans!!!

We do not have to go to a back three to incorporate him into the squad.

...Ndidi needs to be the one deeper to protect the counter, but we attempt to push him forward to aid the press, it is not his game!!!

....I can see your point, and you would have to agree that Wilf is not always needed, depending on who we are playing!!!

Rodgers sees the Wing Backs as options going forward as we tend to deploy them higher up the pitch to squeeze the opposition. I do not feel that we use that formation well, as the space vacated by the WBs now becomes our Achilles heel, to be targeted by astute managers.

I like the formation and it works with JJ and ricardo (at their old standards) and it’s not as well suited for timmy but he does do it for belgium.

The problem has been not having the right players to make it work. Or putting square pegs in round holes… which you could argue we would be doing again with barnes.

The big thing i remember from survival season, was that having big leo for the full backs to aim at was really effective.  We could play nice football with mahrez in the hole but also utilize a good old cross from Sharky. It gave us unpredictability in our approach play.

There’s options to work with but i’m not sure if it’s a perfect option when you play bottom half sides
