A number of Man Utd fans have wanted him back in their side for some time. Saying that, when that means replacing one of Fred or McTominay it’s not necessarily a great indictment of Garners ability, more a damning one of theirs.

Decent passing and set piece delivery is my take on his performance so far. Although let’s be honest, both teams would fare no better than Norwich this season.

He's been at Forest on loan for quite a while. i  would imagine his first choice would be to stay there now they are in the Prem providing they match our offers?? Just thinking out loud.

If we want him I don't see any reason why we couldn't get him, show him where he'll be training, he'll be around better players and be paid better

Based on the fact that every forest fan I know raves about him as one of their best players, it's a yes from me. It would irritate their fans massively, and signing the best performing players from the championship can be a rewarding recruitment policy. Ulloa, Maddison, Justin, even Schmeichel have proven successful for us off the top of my head, and a fair few of our own have benefitted from the championship (Barnes, Dewsbury-Hall, Chilwell). Great league to sign players from I reckon.

If it’s a toss up between him and Berge (who has two years left on his contract allegedly) then surely Berge is the better player to chase.

Sheffield United not getting promoted must make him quite a realistic target too.

I hope your right if there is any truth in it . The training ground could potentially swing it, just hide the injury record and claim amnesia on the cup game lol.

Swing it?! Not contest between us and Forest. If we want him he'll choose us.

We should be by all rights challenging for top 7 so he can be part of that or a relegation scrap.

It’s definitely worth a try. I think he would be very a very good fit for what we need.

IIRC we’ve never had an English player play for us before? Gerrimin.

Schmeichel could have qualified for England.    And Andy King and Muzzy Izzet I think.

But Gareth Southgate wouldn't have picked them. Nigeria didn't qualify.

There was a rumour doing the rounds a while ago on Twitter that Matt Elliott might not have actually been Scottish, they say he was actually born in London - not having it though.

Think he would do well for us. Hopefully we are genuinely in for him.

Where does he play? Ball playing DM or number 8?

He’s more of a deep lying playmaker I think.
