Watford are a disgrace. I thought just maybe they might have gone a different way with this appointment and given him some time.

Seems the CEO wanted to  back

the manager and  actually sacked our DoF last week but the Pozzos have stepped in and for whatever reason reversed the decision and sacked Edwards instead !

We always seem to have someone else lined up - this time it’s Bilic .

There was some doubts about Edwards and a few wanted him gone anyway but still feel bad for him and well what if Bilic doesn’t win more than 2/3 games early on?

Somewhere there has to be some collective responsibility?

Owner Gino Pozzo said: "As with all decisions taken by the board, I believe this change to be in the best interests of the club.

"We felt Rob had enough time to show us the identity of his team, however performances haven't reflected our hopes and ambitions.

"Now we must move forward, and, in Slaven Bilic, we have secured the services of an experienced coach who has recent experience of promotion to the Premier League."

Always thought it was an odd move by Edwards, fair enough he might have gotten the positive aspect of Watford yo-yoing but he was always going to be gone within 18 months. Possibly sooner if they weren't around the top 6

Basically he had to start well and get us performing straight away..

The Pozzos are rather impatient yes and trigger happy but a lot of our fans were questioning Edwards a bit too tbh.

Basically think fans just feel they keep making  bad appointments!

If only you’d kept Nigel, you’d probably still be in the premier league.

Watford appointed Rob Edwards in May; their 16th (I think if I have counted correctly!) manager since 2012. He had built a successful team at Forest Green R, and it seemed that the owner (Pozzo) were seeking a new strategy in allowing a British manager to develop and build a team. This new approach was overwhelming supported by Watford fans. Yet 10 games in, he is sacked; had Watford not conceded in last 5 minutes in last game, they would have been 5th in table. After Watford's abysmal end to last season, it would have been very difficult to build a team, particularly as unclear who would be  still at Watford.

I get the impression the vast majority of fans are despairing in that the club have returned to 'hire and fire' within a few months; Edwards had not lost confidence of supporters and I think most would have preferred staying in Championship if it meant that the basis of strong team able to get promoted next season and have players to stay in PL.

While fans will get behind new manager - Stefan Bilic- it has not been a good week for Watford supporters.

Tbh a lot of the sackings themselves haven’t been criticised that much but the question is have the just made the wrong appointment in the first place .

Seem to be all over the place with our recruiting- gone from random overseas unknowns like Munoz and Ivic to 2 old school managers in Ranieri and Hodgson then to a young British bloke from League Two.

Going by the statement from the owner he seems to say it simply wasn’t good enough but Edwards was a young manager with just one season of management experience- surely they knew he would need time ?

Edwards did seem to have a connection with the fans too that other previous managers haven’t so there is more disappointment now .

And fans are asking is it worth supporting Bilic knowing unless he wins most of the games and has us pushing for promotion he’ll be gone in weeks?

Why sack him now after wasting the international break? Seems mad.

Yeah they said they had meetings during the break and only now they've said there's been disagreements :dunno:

That is embarrassing.

No manager lasting more than a season and a half (apart from Gracia).

Still don't get why any manager these days would go there - the writing is on the wall pretty much from the first day. There's no chance to build a legacy, or be part of a project. You just become another stat, another number for the club.

Basically the club cannot decide what sort of manager they want it seems .

We go from one sort to another every time .

The problem with relying on a constant sequence of new manager bounces is diminishing returns.

Players aren't going to give full commitment to a manager who WILL be gone within months.

Nice pay off through and no real damage to their reputation.

Big fan of that refereeing. Watford have taken the piss in time-wasting and referee has already had enough. Bachmann booked after half an hour.

Also was play acting earlier too .

Don’t need to as we have generally been on top.
