One of those where i would imagine Rodgers is not too bothered about losing 2-1. These first few games of pre-season are all about building fitness and getting minutes in the legs. So long as players are putting the miles in he'll be happy.

Felt like a "chance to prove yourself" game full of fridge players, development squad and trialists. Fofana was the only nailed on staring 11 involved today. 

 

Was impressed with a lot of the development squad, certainly a couple who could break ti Prem level.

I'm not doing particularly, but I'm just very dubious that he will fix it. I don't think he's capable and they're also too arrogant to get outside expertise in.

Obviously Rodgers should be sacked because we lost a vital pre-season friendly against a team who aren't even good enough to be Nottingham Forest (who my dad advised to support...)

 

But we saw some potential today.  Perhaps Wilson-Brown will.come through.  Flynn looked promising.  Wright had some key moments on the right wing.   

 

I still like Choudhury who I suspect will be nowhere near the first team.

It going to be interesting, I expect us to be better if we get Evans, Fofana and Ndidi all playing together. 

 

Whether thats good enough is another thing.

 

If we could just be average for the PL we are look at conceding 7 or 8 less over the season

In general yes. But todays two goals were about individual errors as opposed to disorganisation

Enjoyed the 2nd half more than the first. There's some very promising talent in our academy. They played with spirit and intensiteeeee and just a tad of youthful naivety.

 

Thought the ex-Villa trialist (name escapes me, Aphasia?) knew how to defend corner. For that reason alone, we have to be interested.
