There isn’t one. But we have spunked some money over Rodger’s spell haven’t we and overpaid players, which is a theme of the thread and our lack of activity in the market.

We have also done that after we won the title like Slimani, Silva and Mousa for a start.

We have also made some sound aquisitions too in Fofana, justin and Castagne.

I think a lot of our squad fillers would be welcomed by a number of Prem clubs.  Just not at the rate we pay them.

I think what makes it extra galling is that those outsiders looking in (fans) almost as one said these were poor potential signings as soon as they were linked. Southampton fans were laughing their socks off and even the manager was struggling to keep a straight face when saying how disappointed he was about them leaving. I appreciate that fans get it wrong as well (Soumare most recently) but these two were obvious to most. Something doesn't add up unless the figures for transfer fee and wages that have been rumoured is wildly inaccurate.

I don’t think the first part is entirely true. Vestergaard came after a decent season with them and a very good euros. I thought he would be a good singing.

Bertrand on paper was a solid, low risk signing that’s turned into a disaster with the only saving grace being we got him on a free.

Exactly this, we have known where to pull out previously but under Rodgers there appears to have been some influence which has said “this is who we need to take us to the next level” and we have trusted them.

We need to know our limits as a club and tell people to get lost if they want too much.

Bertrand on a free as an experience left back to cover while JJ was out made sense at the time on a free and we've paid him a similar wage to what he was on at Southampton. If he was in major decline in his last season at Southampton as some suggest then that's something the scouts/analyst's should've picked up on and avoided signing him.

Players running down contracts is going to become more common, you are going to win some and lose some and the club could take advantage themselves.  Next season could be a chance to reset the squad.

We have. But then we’ve also paid out better players huge amount to keep them that other clubs wouldn’t have. This in turn drags up the wages of everyone else, shit players at big clubs are on astronomical amounts. Sadly it’s what happens and it’s difficult to manage once the cat is out the bag. Trying to be a big club workout the resources is a hard balance to strike.

Another panicking thread.

The owners, Whelan and Rudders in the last 10 years have brought more success to this club then any other except Man C, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool.

Unless its been blind luck, I think we can trust them to sort stuff out.

100% agree and that’s why I’m so adamant it needs addressing.

You definitely get the feeling standards have slipped massively in this area. I feel it's kind of inevitable we lose someone next summer quite pivotal - it's possibly even going to be Fofana.

It's not unfixable but I've seen no signs this summer that it's going in the right direction either. We needed to not overhaul this summer, but keep it ticking over and set us up for the bumpier period of next summer. So far there's been nothing.

I saw people in the Bednarek thread trying to justify the signing. It's poor investing like that that will eventually put us in relegation battles. We won't be in one this season but I'd not be at all surprised if we go the way of Southampton in the next couple of years, spare the irony of the club.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing .

You can't have it both ways.

Moaning that players are not under contract enough.

Yet moaning players are on contracts we can't get rid of.

It's one or the other. When you tie a player to a long contract you have no idea what the future holds and it could go either way.

They flop and you can't get rid or they become stars.

That's the nature of the beast.

How dare you use common sense on this forum.

It's all Bertrand and Rodgers fault don't you know.

Sometimes when I read this forum I feel like I'm watching a democrat explain what a woman is.

You. Can. Stop. Signing. Twats. And. Overpaying. Them.

Do they wear special T-shirts, or hang around at a certain social club? This would be top information, so good you should probably share it with Wyscout, commission might be worth a pretty penny too!

More worried about Rodgers influence than anything especially regarding train wreck signings like Vestergaard and bertrand.

Do think we've been too generous wage wise though that's true. But i can live with the salary of albrighton because he does something, Bertrand and especially Vestergaard are absolutely useless.

Joining the big boys at the top table, too many poor signings that have crashed and burned and missing out on Europe, have all contributed to the current situation. In a nutshell the club have too many players all highly salaried. No point whining at the club because it has to sell first and Youri pissing them about. The club can't bring players in until they know who they can show the door. Not sure how FFP effects everything but history has shown they'd spend if they could. Brendan should have kept his trap shut instead of talking about a refresh, rebuild, restart, five new players . Doubt the powers that be are happy with that claptrap.

We have had them before, Musa 18m, Silva 30m, Slim 30m, clubs make mistake.

We pay the going rate, it no just a LCFC issue, its a PL issue.

The problem is the more successful a club the bigger the wage bill gets.

Players whose contracts expire in Summer 2023;

Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Daniel Amartey, Ayoze Perez, Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand, Hamza Choudhury and Jonny Evans (10 players).

Players whose contracts expire in Summer 2024;

Wilfred Ndidi, James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho, Yannik Vestergaard, Dennis Praet, Like Thomas and Marc Albrighton (7 players).

That's 17 first team players who have less than 24 months left on their contracts here at Leicester. Less time than a normal phone contract ffs.

How have we positioned ourselves this badly and have left us with such little room for manoeuvre when we look to sell our better players? We're coming out of a golden era of Leicester talent in the likes of Soyuncu, Tielemans, Maddison, Ndidi and Iheanacho. Likely worth in excess of £250m if under contract that will either leave for free of for pittance. All at the perfect age and stage in their development to play UCL football for the world's biggest clubs and we're going to piss their fee up the wall.

The only players we have 'tied up' are;

Harvey Barnes, Danny Ward and Tim Castagne (Until 2025)

Bouba Soumare, James Justin, Ricardo Pereira and Patson Daka (Until 2026)

Wes Fofana and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Until 2027)

Players like Maddison and Ndidi need to be paid properly and need to be tied up so that we can guarantee a proper fee for when clubs come knocking. Reports of £25m for a player like Tielemans just shows how much we're ****ing ourselves over. He's a player that came for £32m and then improved further here ffs.

Our inability to move deadwood on has been laughable. Hamza, Perez, Mendy, Praet and Amartey should all have left years ago. Liverpool routinely get £10-20m for players that are surplus to demands there. Obviously these players aren't as good as Liverpool's reserves but we should be getting £30m+ for these sorts of players, instead we're probably going to get nothing and will spend the time waiting for their contracts to expire with them out on loan with us still paying a portion of their wage.

The big reset we're supposed to have been having has obviously stalled and that's because we've got a bloated squad of players on expiring contracts and nobody wants them.

Our Club & squad isn t some Military project...

we aint in a mess,because this season, we start at ground-zero, with a far fitter squad, who would have become familiar with each other....

Far, by far,...even further, Gravitation Pull far & further still many are going OTT with our so called situation.....

Posters Really have to Stop Building shit compaigns & agendas....its becoming quite unbalanced & quite....well!!!!  Falling into some derranged " blackhole",

of negativity....just because Posters are desperate to Build and follow some weird rhetoric....

So far , no changes, means we are Finding a strong stability, through this Misty attrocious,unwarranted BS,crap,Ding -beetle piss noise...!!

Unlike many of the Lynch-mob,  I actually like our Club & manager, and the Jones's Mr Mannering panic, aint in my make-up..!!

Get a grip, Relax and do the Rodgers Irish Boogie,we  are going to have a Riverdance-season, with our very own Lord of the Dance...
