May have been said before but if anyone's got time there's a clip from the under the cosh podcast with Tony Pulis, he mentions his time managing Evans at West Brom, and states the man is too overcautious regarding injuries, says even the slightest bump and he's questioning whether he can play or not, well worth a listen, brings to light whether his consistent injury record for us is as serious as first thought

100 caps for any national team is a great achievement, well done Jonny!

I agree. If he’d shown leadership last season we wouldn’t be in this mess. Need a complete clear out of the old guard and a fresh start . If we need experience the likes of Cairney would be a better bet. Talk of a new contract makes me think we’re still taking generous emotional decisions rather than ruthless hard headed ones..

Correct.

Doesn't come across as a leader per say more an experienced pro.

His ankle is now made out of wet cardboard, no a contract for me is a no.

Time to move and let Enzo bring his own leadership team together.

I was initially all for him staying but hearing the Pulis stuff and his continued blatant idiocy in playing for N Ireland at times has put me off.

Time to look elsewhere.

Let him go. Its time to rebuild.

With 7 gone or going and possibly more it will be important to hang on to him next season just for his experience.

Everyone realises we won't get a full playing season out of him but his presence in and around the dressing room and training ground will be invaluable.

This is all fine if he is paid a salary that reflects that. But can you imagine Jonny doing this being paid 10k a week?

MBE? Mostly Bench Employment?

Good luck to him though, think he's been really good when fit. I'd be inclined to keep him for a year in a player/coach role.

Pure supposition.

Mbe for 100 national games. I know these are given out but ffs the guy could be a massive **** but hey 100 games, here is an mbe.

We need a threshold for match going supporters. If you've been to 1000 games , wbe is given. Wanka of the british empire.

No way the new gaffer is having him - any offer we have made will be revoked - he won’t be here - new start - new captain - he had a very good couple of years for us did Johnny - shame about last season and should never have been captain - we move on

He’s was great for us a few years ago, made the likes of Maguire look good, but it’s time up now. We have essentially been his medical facility between NI matches for a while now.

He's a good player if fit and playing.   Would Maresca value his presence?   Would be willing to meet his wage demands?  Is it simply time for a parting of ways?

Nobody can speculate, if there's any sense in the club, Enzo will be consulted whether his services would be preferable and to what extent, then a joint decision made over max wage offered, then give him a take it or leave it. I just hope Enzo is in the loop on all these decisions because if he isn't, then what's the point?
