With Coady in, we don’t need Evans, would be looking for huge wages that we can’t just drop out for a player to play 15-20 games a season.

Can see him at either Celtic and linking up again with BR or a club like Luton who might want some cheap premier league experience around the squad

I've watched Evans play for our club as well as West Brom and Man Utd. The 19/20 season was by far the best of his career. He was phenomenal. He played all 38 league games. Shame he's completely packed it in now at club level but he was a great player fir us and I loved watching him.

Honestly I would take him as a free on a cheap contract. Make it clear he’s a back up similar to Big Wes’ final year with us.

If he don’t want that then cya later.

Been a brilliant player for us. Genuinely one of the best centre halves I've seen a Leicester shirt. I wish him all the best, but it surely is time to move on.

Not his fault, but the decision to make him captain and the way the captaincy was banded about during his prolonged and inevitable absence was a huge reason we got relegated. I loved both Madders and Youri but they shouldn't have been anywhere near the captaincy. However, the squad had no leaders, so there weren't many options. Another masterstroke from our former manager.

Evans?

“It’s just as we said before, we are creating a squad. We have been in contact with him. We’ll see in the next weeks.”

Do we read that as we've made him a pretty low offer, he can take it or leave it?

We've been in contact.....could be we've asked him to clear his locker and return his security pass.....or it's a contract offer. Difficult to say for sure.

I'd give him a hard deadline to accept the offer or we should allocate the money elsewhere and given he's had the offer for a while maybe another week or so to accept or we announce he's left.

I really like Evans, he's miles better than the Championship, but with his injury record and his wages, call it a day and let him get himself a 1 year prem deal before sitting in the stands with an injury again.

Not arsed about this at all. A classy player technically, mentally keeps earning leadership roles so he's likely an intelligent bloke and a manager's pally type.

Always remember back to that Man U game last fixture of the season 20/21, Champions League in the balance at home, COVID times. He pops up on a Manchester United TV podcast thing chatting to them about how great Man U were and how much he loved it there ect. in the week leading up to the game, completely tone deaf. We then went on to lose to Man U in a pathetic performance, gifted Jesse Lingard his first Prem goal in over a year as we sulked off to the Europa League.

Celtic will be perfect for him. Gets to suck up to the ego manager at an ego Club which wins trophies like no-one else wants them. Probably gets a coaching gig with Brodge too. I don't know why we're hanging on to him in any hope. Give him his "best wishes from LCFC" statement and get on with building the future.

Still a home nation international player, captain to boot.  This is his last big decision in his playing career life.  Stick or twist.

Lots of bad vibes from last season and yes he hardly contributed. When he did though, he showed us a decent few minutes of his quality.

The guy, when fit, would boss the Championship.  Hopefully the club have made their offer and given him till Friday 7th July 2023 to sign or its withdrawn.

It's first day of pre season and the captain hasn't decided if he can be arsed or not.

Definitely need to withdraw the offer and show to the squad that there are no half measures anymore. You're either on board or you're not.

This sort of behaviour is why we got relegated. It's time we packed it in and built a team that wants to play for Leicester again.

I'm normally keen to not take stuff personally and to strip the emotion out and be pragmatic but I actually think you're right. In fact, I actually think they're one and the same.

I think the smart, pragmatic thing to do is to cut ties. I get he's at a stage in his career where he needs to think carefully about his next move and I don't resent that or hold any grudge but I 100% think it's the wrong attitude for a leader.

Listen to Coady, he's thrilled to be here, it's the easiest decision he's made in years. That's what you want to hear. Even if you strip Evans of the captaincy, he's still going to be a senior figure in the dressing room. You can't have senior players who are half in. Get him walking.
