Dominated possession in the first half without creating chances.

Maddisons goal was sublime. However…….

After scoring there seems to be a wave of anxiety from ‘da management’ which regularly reverts to containment, negativity, changing things around and ultimately fcuking things up very quickly.

How many times under rodgers has that happen now score then turn to complete dogs who can't even put 2 passes together get him out this club now

6 shots on goal. 1 shot on target. Against Southampton at home.

Up until the first goal, we played ok especially Justin, Barnes and to some extent Perez. Justin had to carry Ndidi in CM, but Barnes stepped up to fill in the void Justin left behind when he went inside to help Ndidi (handicap nowadays). Still a big question mark over Rodgers’ stubbornness in playing Ndidi who has a “good” game if he doesn’t do anything reckless these days.

Then we scored and all of a sudden we forgot to play and just invited pressure by standing back. INCREDIBLE. Just when we needed to pile on the pressure but we went into our shell again.

Then Rodgers continued to keep Ndidi on the pitch when he gave two goals away and was a liability in CM when we needed to keep the ball with good passing and good movements, which Ndidi cannot do. He should have gone for Nachos instead of Daka and he should have kept Perez on the pitch and got Ndidi off. Poor subs.

Poor tactics. Poor set up.

Why do we set ourselves up so badly, every game? This is the last 2 years.

I said at the end of the last game and beginning of this game that if Rodgers plays Ndidi, I am OUT as the result is not only predictable but it shows Rodgers has not learnt and that means we are in for a bad season.

Rodgers OUT.

The whole club risks going off a cliff unless huge decisions are made this week.  Does the ownership/management not see what is happening?

WAKE UP.

BTW what was the point in getting rid of Kasper again?

1 shot on target...

Their fans were joking on the way in about how bad they are. They are indeed shite as we saw and yet they still managed to go 1 down away from home and then batter us to a pulp.

We can't defend, as soon as a team needs to pressure us for a goal it's only a matter of time.

Good first half, JJ absolutely exceptional forwards & backwards. Bizarre moments between Ndidi & Amartey randomly hoofing us into trouble but generally in control but lacking that cutting edge in and around the box.

Beautiful goal from Madders. Then we just sat back, scared. Amartey looking very flimsy. They throw Adams on and minutes later level, not much of a reply from us so they pile the pressure on again and goal.

We have no confidence in defence, as soon as someone needs to score against us they do. Lack of fight after the equaliser a huge concern to me. Lack of chances, players underperforming, huge names still not getting minutes. It's just ugly, no atmosphere at all where I was sat either, just feels inevitable at the moment.

Dog piss. Why the **** is he picking Amartey every week

You watch that and your main takeaway is we should swap Soyuncu for Amartey?

Others with more patience will mention our defence. But a nice free kick from Maddison aside the entire front line were atrocious, couldn't string a couple of passes together and the joke about Amartey's poor first touch apply equally to all of them. They were especially culpable in the first half, when we had plenty of the ball around Southampton's area but made feck all of it. Perez at least tried to make up for it tackling back. Barnes though... sheesh.

Someone in the match thread saying they see Barnes as a superior Demarai Gray... maybe so, but only in the sense that in about 1 game in 10 he's much better. The rest of the time he's even more frustrating. If anything his ability to choose the wrong pass (and still not make it) is more highly tuned than Gray's.

65 minutes, ok, good goal, bit of effort, ndidi actually had 30 good minutes, fairly tight.

Then the usual crap, poor subs, Vardy was the best defender on the pitch, so lets take him off, why ? Ndidi became the worst player on the field, back to his usual, 3 foot passes with a 50% success rate and scared to tackle, so lets leave him on, why ?.

Take the winger off and wonder why we suddenly have no width, no outlet , so we give them a 100% boost and 99% of the ball, why ?

Subs, Daka is so very poor, championship at best and Teilimans never gets stuck in even when he plays well , that was all we needed, bite them back and he played exactly like he wants out, so why put him on.

After the subs the team gave up and we including the players might as well all have gone home.

Pathetic really for million pound plus a year kids who should be able to battle all day and most barely managed an hour.

Rodgers of course should be long gone, no idea when the game is on, every change proves it.

He has to go, we have players in this team that have nearly broke the top 4 twice and won an FA Cup, they have it in their locker to compete with the best, it's so clear that tactically he has lost the plot, I'm sick to death of sitting back when going a goal up and inviting pressure onto ourselves which results in the inevitable defeat or draw

This can't go on

Transfer window should

close before the seasons start you can’t have 2 or 3 players who could be first choice miss out because they want to leave and disrupt everything else. Not the only reason we lost as we have been garbage for a while but that doesn’t help. New faces needed all round but doubt we will see any now

It's been too long. So Top/Rudders, you were both watching the game. What are you going to do about it? We are playing relegation football right now, no attack minded playmaking skilled player bar maddison in the squad.

....the fans' reaction at the end is what is going to be the catalyst for them to act, there is now no doubt about their feelings about his tenure!!!

he ain’t quitting.

Of course he is , his contract will be of Fort Knox quality. Including his staff will probably cost us £25 million. Let's hope we can pay it on the never-never.

The European leagues won’t change so we can’t change unless we ban transfers out after our season starts - which I’m not sure is contractually legal.
