I don't think he means that he hopes Wes is scratching his stump in a cardboard box on the street by next Christmas, just that he won't take off to be a superstar.

Career ruined.   That's pretty devastating.  Imagine making a mistake or two when you were a young man, I know I did, and then having someone wish for your career and future ruined.  The thing you've most likely worked for from a very young age.

Just ridiculous.

Yes we were all pissed off with the way in which he left but honestly who gives a toss now?

Tbh, I find that one of the great pleasures in life 😂....not a nice quality, but human nonetheless

It may be human.  I may have wished Ill of some deeply unpleasant people I've had the misfortune of having to deal with over the years.

But it seems a tad over zealous in regard to a young sportsman who not one of us actually knows and who made a decision that, let's face it, 90% of people in his situation would have made.

Did he handle it like a prize bellend, yes he did.  But then haven't we all been prize bellends at some point in our lives?

Wishing an injury for an ex player is bit shit.. having empathy that an ex player who left after recently signing a new contract, for me is whatever.

You forgot the bit where he generally just acted like a knob.

But I do agree with your post.

Pretty much where I'm at right now. I don't wish anyone ill - once they're off my radar I don't think anything of them at all.

I think rather of how well it turned out for us; quids in the bank (eventually) and a half decent replacement.Plus our upturn defensively (for whatever reason) means I'm more than happy with how it's p!ayed out.

Didn't they fly him to the U.S. for a special scan during his physical?

Don't wish anyone to be injured, but we might have cashed in at a high... if he had the start to the season for us that he had for Chelsea, it would've knocked at least £20 million off the selling price if we were selling him next summer.

...at last it is finally dawning on people how lucky we were in this instance!!!

Its been a while now since little Wes ran off with his pram and teddy bears. Interesting stat for this season so far, played 4 EPL games - two for a side called Leicester City. He has been out injured and has renewed issues after returning for a practice match. The young man might be crocked. That'd be a pity, still he can always play with his teddies.

if he’s crocked then he made the right decision. He’s now getting more money and has a longer contract… he’s had the last laugh.

In hindsight, it was a great bit of business selling him. Had he still been here, we'd have been in a real shit show until January, with only Dan, Cags and Vestergaard fit. Our season hasn't been great but could have been even worse!.

To be honest there's nothing to suggest Soyuncu is a worse option than what we had out. Our manager just doesn't want to play him any more. The issue was created by having a manger who suddenly doesn't like two of his centre backs in a team that is hardly blessed with great options.

But if he had’ve stayed you can’t guarantee he would’ve been injured?

...glad someone realises just what a lucky break we had!!!

All this moaning that he walked and no acknowledgement that if he had stayed the amount of money we would have lost.

Imagine looking to sell Maddison if he had 2 years to go on his contract, we would all go nuts, but that is what we are asking to happen,  because the alternative is losing money the more the contract runs down.

The probability is very high, look at Ricardo and Justin, I also have similar concerns about Souttar.

I think there is a reasonable chance he gets pushed aside with new signings arriving in every window.

If he doesn't perform instantly, they will just sign a ready made world class CB to start ahead of him.

He still has an incredible contract so he will be OK, but he won't be given any real time or patience if he doesn't perform at the highest level straight away.

True but with his current record and our current record, it's highly likely he would have been. We got a good fee for him, and whilst at the time, and especially after the first few games of the season, it looked like a bad deal, I think in hindsight now, it was a good deal.

He would give anything to be playing right now.

well yeah because if he’d still been here he’d be crocked and on less money… nobody would touch him now.  In many ways it validates his desperation  to get a big move

He got 230k a week for 7 years, we got 70 million quid. The only people that aren't laughing are Chelsea.

Serves them right . They wouldn’t take no for an answer , had Boehly take personal charge of the transfer jetting about the place , unsettled the player to the extent we had to accept what they were offering rather than our asking price . F*** you but we will take your money 💰

I’m sure he’s crying into his millions.

...when you have a talent in any form and you are paid for displaying it, the money is just the perks!!!

Why on earth do you see grown men on a Sunday morning,  running around a football pitch,, when they are in their 40's chasing a football?

Didn't Wilshere suffer a similar injury at a similar age? and that effected the rest of his career. Wouldn't be surprised if the same happens to Fofana.
