Rodgers (Allegedly) Publicly Calls the Players Not Good Enough and Throws Them Under the Bus

I agree with him. Must be frustrating to hear fans of the club you gave European football to and their first ever fa cup, boo you and call for your head. He wants to be at a club challenging the "big 6" and he has not been allowed to do that in this transfer window (see Tops programme notes) Long term, we will be fine and the club are in good hands (new training ground etc.) but fans have to be realistic and remember we have over achieved in recent years and it's been a fantastic ride which will hopefully keep going but currently  we can't expect it every season due to finances (just look what other clubs have been able to do in the window) I hope Brendan wants to stay, starts getting results and we finish mid to top half of table, I would be happy with that but am worried he won't be. If he goes, we will not be able to bring in a manager of his quality in the current financial situation. It will be a hard few seasons but keep the faith and back the lads.

Do you go to games, Bedford, and pay your hard earned to watch these performances?

Fair enough. You have more patience than me. I've been going down the City for far too long and know that a manager can not turn a team around from this position. I'm normally supportive of managers but decisive action is needed before it's too late.

Surely he can’t survive the night after this? No player will want to play for him now. Imagine your boss calling you not good enough in public.

What do you think calling for a “summer refresh” was back in December?

What do you think making just one sub in the first game of the season was?

He’s already openly shown this thinking to the players.

My concern would be who would come in. I 100% trust Top and those running the club so if he does go then will put my support behind and sing my heart out for whoever comes in.

I’m sorry but anyone defending him saying “us fans agree” doesn’t change the fact he didn’t have the balls to be so directly out spoken when the window was open.

It’s the biggest case of Rodgers spinning his own narrative for the media to do some puff piece when he gets sacked.

He is a hideous little rat, he did exactly the same at Celtic too so has form.

Bin him off, would genuinely rather see Dyche here - never thought I’d say that before!!

I’m sure Kasper has something to say….

When grumpy finally gets disposed, I would like to hear Kaspers thoughts. There’s no way a club legend and captain just leaves the club without any sort of formal goodbye without something happening….

Sorry if I have missed something here:

Daniel Amartey has been in the team because Rogers claims Soyuncu is way off it at the moment.

Wilf then comes in last night (assume due to Amartey’s recent errors).

So if we are saying Amartey is “better”than Soyuncu, why does then Soyuncu sit on the bench and Amartey miss out in the squad completely.

Unless Amartey is injured (& forgive me if I’m wrong) but is he making it up as he goes along?

Injured, I think it was mentioned on BT before the game.

There are now only two routes with him:

- We fans get off his back so he doesn’t need to throw anyone under the bus and can concentrate on his job

- He takes responsibility publicly and get on with his job

It may be hard but let’s get off his back. Otherwise the toxicity will infiltrate. Let him and the club deal with it privately.

Ok Brendan, shouldn’t you be trying to figure out how to fix the situation with the lads as opposed to silencing your critics on message boards??

Surely there are potential grounds to dismiss him (for cheaper) based on breaching his contract with some of actions and comments, not to mention being bottom of the league?

Amartey was ill, I read.

His height bothers me, like if he was 6"6 I'd have less of an issue tbf.

The fact he barely reaches 4"9 on a springy day yet is still capable of tearing this club apart really gets to me.

I'm not massive myself, just wanted to be honest.

What's the issue? Has he been "helped" in the transfer market?!

Meanwhile, he's been nothing but EFFUSIVE in his praise of the efforts the PLAYERS put out in tonight's game!

Agreed. After reading loads of comments here, I went and watched the interview - and I didn't think it the dereliction of duty I anticipated. I thought he was praising the players effort and commitment - and I'd agree with what he said. He's siding WITH the players, trying NOT to blame them. His comments about lacking quality are in reference to "in the squad" and "at moments", even then he goes on to praise Maddison just so he doesn't feel singularly blamed. Tbh, I think he's trying to create a kind of siege mentality within the squad; giving them a reason not to feel the villains of the piece. The comments about lack of signings are factual. His "with the greatest respect" comment can be taken as him carefully acknowledging the situation and noting its impact on the team - I don't see it as divisory or blaming.

Nowhere near the level, but obviously fine to sit on the bench and come on in anyone gets injured lol

That's about the size of it. He doesn't have confidence in Cags and, in an ideal world, would have him gone - but he does rate him above the other options. I don't actually see anything contradictory in that.

His gripes about the lack of funds to bring in new players to keep moving us forward are valid, but his own demeanor, and negative comments, not only about the current players,  but also about the owners, is bound to have an effect on the players he is paid to encourage and inspire. How can you go into games with belief as a player, if your own manager is saying you're not good enough anymore, and the club you are playing for,  have owners with no ambition anymore.  How can the likes of Maddison be expected yo sign a new contract with the manager basically saying we are a busted flush, and won't be able to compete. It is often said that a team reflects their manager, and currently that is what is happening with us.  The manager clearly has no faith in his players, and has spat his dummy out, almost to Fofana levels, and in my view the players no longer have faith in the manager.  An absolute recipe for disaster.

In the words of Oliver Cromwell  my message for Rodgers is this.

It is not fit that you should sit here any longer. You have sat here too long for any good you have been doing lately … In the name of God go.“

A "manager of his quality" ? err no, a decent one would be good enough thank you

Are you Phil McNulty?

I support Leicester and therefore back whoever is in charge. I trust in the owners so while they keep Brendan there I will support him and not boo and call for his head. If they decide its time for him to go, I will support the next manager. I believe the manager should be given a bit of time now that the transfer window is closed to fix the awful run of form, but like I say I will support the club no matter what.
