No, they should show some backbone and support during adversity - like we have a proud history of in the past.

Here’s a little conundrum for you:

Two people are racing, one is blind and one is not.

The fans of the blind racer are clapping them on, cheering, giving everything they’ve got.

Theres silence for the racer who isn’t blind.

There’s a picture finish at the end of the race. Why? Because the blind racer has run the wrong way, out of the stadium.

The fans backed him though, so well done fans.

Thought you meant the folk that shoot out the stuff towards the fans.

I thought he meant what people gift to children's hospitals and nurseries. I think they do it in Spain (Betis?) as a charitable thing from fans for the local hospitals lol

The club has a long history and we have had our fair share of ups and downs and peaks and troughs, we've been through the best of times and also suffered through the worst of times. As a fan base we just want to progress as a team and a club. Fans get upset, get frustrated, get sulky, they also gey buoyed, get excited, find euphoria in the team.the team has given so many fans hope over the years. During our title success we even gave other fans of different clubs hope and a dream that one day their club could find some sort of success.  As fans we have every right to express an opinion on how the team is and what we think should be done with the team and the club. We know how things were and we all know how things are at the moment and we all want the same thing an ambitious club with the prospects of success and a sustainable future at the top end of the football tree.

We were in league 1 13 years ago so you shouldn't criticise a manager who hasn't got a tune out of the squad for 18 months...

If we're not striving to be the best we can be as a club, what is the point? Currently we're playing within ourselves, putting very little on show while the manager takes pot shots at the board and the club. Frustration is justified.

The measure of a fan isn't in hoe they handle unprecedented success, but in how they handle the inevitable decline.

Why can we not be simultaneously at peace with the prospect of relegation, and also want the manager gone? I don’t want to be in a relegation fight, none of us do, but that is where we are. Maybe some have been taking our premier league status for granted, but their eyes should be well and truly opened now.

I’m not have a go at your opinion and your right we should all support during adversity but I think we as fans do.

As fans we support the club and are loyal to our club which players and managers are not.

We have a right to be unhappy at players or managers for not giving their best, but we will always continue to support the club.

Do I have a default profile picture?

I can change it if you want.

I have seen some great moments in my 32 years following Leicester City, but probably more distressing ones.

I started attending in the 'Pleat Out, Shipman Out' period. I have seen decent managers leave and decent managers abused to the point they almost leave.

The club nearly ceased to exist! Leicester fans rallied around and had whiprounds to pay players' wages. Two old players dipped into their pockets to save the club - for me, demonstrating what a special club we followed.

We even dropped into League One for the first time in our history.

Throughout all this there has been a type of supporters who baffles me - the Teddy Thrower. The Teddy Thrower is always the first to howl and scream at any player who makes the tiniest mistake. They will be the first to call for a manager's head during a bad period, some will also choose to sit behind the manager so they can impart their considered wisdom during game time.

In the past, Teddy Throwers used to be a minority. These days, especially on Foxestalk, they are in the ascendancy. They will question why people continue to support their team, how come people can possibly have opinions different to theirs, and how come the people who are involved with the club professionally don't do exactly as the Teddy Thrower suggests.

Now don't get me wrong: this isn't about whether or not we should sack BR. It is about whether there has been a decline in the moral fibre of our supporters since we have tasted success.

And moderators, sorry if there was a thread about this back in 2007 - feel free to merge.

Not really....it just seems worse now because its online.

As you said the pleat years went toxic...some supporters turned on brian little when he went to villa...same with mcghee....even mon didn't get off scot free....meson...Peter twatlor (easily the most hated man in lcfc history aling with dennis wise)etc etc.

The Supporters have been behind rodgers for a long time , some see the decline quickly others grit their teeth but just lately more supporters are noticing things such as players not playing...players out of position...little youth coming through....constant remarks concerning lack of funds....and a refusal to hold his hands up and admit he's wrong (easier to throw others under the bus)....do I want him to turn it around and succeed  , damn right....don't think he will....sadly not.

PLEAT OUT

I see your point.

But, Pleat Out followed two decades of stagnation with successive boards of local businessmen using the club to promote their interests and not investing in the club.

We are currently in/just after a period of success never before witnessed at the club and with owners who have gone above and beyond.

I agree with pretty much all of that.

The problem is fans get very invested in their clubs but can do very little to control outcomes.

All you can do is spend money and get behind your team during games.

I'm not sure how helpful creating a toxic environment is...

It's not...it doesn't help at all...but when the football being played is flat..dull..uninspiring it'll feed into the stands.

Sad but true

We will be shit again and as a fan, there is very little you can do about it.

Well I hope the board and owner doesn't share your opinion. There's no reason why anyone should accept this rationale and is the same kind of philosophy that would have kept us in league 1 for years.

Yeah, but the slight difference is that there are things boards and owners can do about it. Post said there’s nothing fans can do about it, which is simply true.
