Faes may not quite match Fofana in athleticism, but his composure makes him a better match for Amartey when Evans is out. Could he be a better match for Soyuncu too? We'll probably never know.

I thought Soumare played better too by not having to fill in defensive gaps as much, and picking out some good passes.

Overall, I saw a lot more positive passes, and even saw a few times players thought about playing backwards, but decided to go forwards instead

So what we reckoning? Best team something like this?

                   Ward

Castagne Faes Amartey Justin

             Ndidi Tielemans

    Praet Maddison Barnes

                   Vardy

Evans should be back now so him instead of Amartey and that's it.

Which he was forced into

Who forced him to play Praet?

He could have easily started Perez in that position tonight, or changed formation altogether to go two up top.

Instead he chose Praet and the decision paid off, give Rodgers credit.

At last we had a game where we were in CONTROL.

After a shaky start, the goal calmed the nerves and the game was over with the second goal.

Faes controlled the defence, Youri controlled the midfield and Barnes ran them ragged up front.

A much better performance, albeit against a Leeds side who could well be in a relegation battle.

Great to see Tielemans run the midfield as we all know he can do.

The work starts now. The next few games will show whether we are improving, or not.

Going to be a party pooper‐ but still not convinced and Leeds were horrendously shit, a carbon copy of Forest and allowed us to play (their one shot at goal is proof, and even their fans where chanting how crap they were at 75 mins) not going to change my mind on another isolated win against a poor team and I feel  its still a false dawn and it pains me to say it but  I think normal service will resume against Wolves, who I'd be very surprised if they didn't offer considerably more than Leeds.

Brenden can still fu#k off, and I'll gladly drive him there.

Having said that I am extremely incredibly happy with the 3 points.

No. Maddison was missing and he had to go with Praet bearing in mind he'd cold shouldered Perez more.

Well I can say with confidence that Jesse Marsch will take Leeds down this season. I'm not sure how many openings we needed to gift them, absolutely powderpuff lol

Shout out to Castagne, Faes and Praet. I'm sure Praet will be rewarded by being banished to the bench now :D

Ward was commanding as well and did well with what he had to do.

Defend like that against Man City and it'll be a hilarious scoreline.

3 points. It makes the next gaffers job a bit easier. Unfortunately it also means more abject performances will be allowed.

A much needed win. They were awful though, so won’t be getting carried away with it.

Needs to be backed up with another 3 points on Sunday

He made the right decision because it was enforced change. It’s not much credit let’s be honest.

Harsh to say for our 2nd given it was our pressing and then composure and neat play to set up the goal.

It was still a result of a mistake from Leeds. The move after that was sublime, but it was still a result of a mistake from Leeds.

Praet should keep his place but more than likely he will just swap Maddison back hopefully he has the balls to drop one of Soumare, KDH or Youri instead ... KDH could do with a rest I would bring Maddison in for KDH keep Preat out on the right.

The problem comes if you take out Soumare from the holding role you will then stifle the natural game of one of the other two.
It’s a good problem for us to have in terms of talent but someone’s talent will have to be sacrificed for the balance of the team.
It just relies on Brendan having the strength to make that decision for long term gains

I think that will do us more good than the forest win. We walked over forest because they are dogshit. Leeds aren't great but they are better than forest. We never looked like conceding and won a lot of the individual battles around the pitch.

He will get credit if he retains Praet on Sunday
