Yeah recently Rodgers definitely seems to be using handy players like Daka and Praet much better than he has done before, fair play. Juggle the squad well and it stops players being run into the ground as well as stopping folk getting rusty. Praet in particular is so useful.

I'm not 100% sure what the situation is with our signings. We know Congerton was heavily involved, but some signings did not seem like Rodgers signings, Vestergaard never seemed like a fit for a high pressing team for example. Congerton took Lookman with him to Atalanta in Serie A, and they are top with Lookman playing really well for them. He signed Fofana, and Daka also looks good.

 

Many things are on Rodgers, our mental collapses and sometimes baffling substitutions (I still get nightmares from taking off Ihenacho off against Bournemouth during the Covid season), but as you say - with a good defence he can get a team scoring goals. Despite starting the day at the bottom of the table, we've won two games 4-0 now.

How much of our improvement is down to the new coach? It helps no end not being 1-0 down from a corner in the first 5 mins of section every match!

Bloooooming superb stuff. Great win, some great goals and another clean sheet. Life is looking much better all of a sudden. If we can continue this form through the World Cup break then we could be midtable by then! One game at a time, mind.

Beat me to it ...  (Chuffed to hell with the 3 points) but that's exactly why I'm not getting too carried away and proclaiming Rodgers as the massiah again  im still firmly Rodgers out.

 

However,  if we can grab another 3 points by the 5th Nov, but crucially and most importantly with similar performances where we press, counterattack and not revert to BrendanBall (especially against Man City next) than I'll accept that we may have turned a corner finally..

 

Hopefully Villa (if the papertalk does pan out to have some truth) will be blinded by his (temporary) do called "brilliance" and come and take the fraud off our hands.

They're home fans realising City and Vardy has completely stuffed them over. I think our lot would react similarly if the tables were turned.

Chuffed to bits, with the result. Didn't watch (highlights anywhere?) but sounds like a pretty darned good all around performance.

 

If we keep putting in the performances and getting results then I don't give a toss who manages us. I'm defo still 'Rodgers out' but I'm enjoying the result. If he proves me wrong then cool. I'm big enough to get over my own feelings as long as we're showing some spirit, some belief and getting results (so **** off all you 'told you so, revisionist bores ) The team comes first not what I think!
