I don't think you can pick against France until someone beats them.  Even depleted a bit, still the most talented side in the field.  But Brazil would be my #1 challenger to them.

It’s so hard to say at this stage, there’s usually one or two teams who look great in the group stage who fall away, then there’s always a team who have a slow start who just get better and better as the tournament goes on.

I’ve watched most games, and France do look the stand out team, it could get interesting if Argentina finish 2nd in their group they could easily drop out. 
Argentina in the last 16, England in the 1/4 final is a tough route to the semis, especially with a few a graders missing.

Brazil look like they might be the team to beat and I think they’ll get better than what they’ve shown so far.

Lots of tight defensive performances so far, so any team who has players who can unlock a defence will be contenders - England if they are going to have any chance of making inroads need to play Foden, Maddison and Saka behind Kane, they also need to be brave and go TAA for Trippier when they need a goal.

Ever since their first game, it's difficult to see any other team as good as France.

Brazil and Spain might nick it, but France have the world's best forward in Mbappe. He can change a game in a trice. Griezmann is a canny player too.

I'd like Croatia to win it - but they lack the strength-in-depth.

If England are going to progress any further after the group stage Southgate is going to have to select players who can upset their opponents - Grealish and Foden have been mentioned as just such players, but Maddison is a must.

The draw always opens up in competitions, they likely wouldn’t have to play Spain, Argentina or Brazil until the final. The route to the final is Senegal, France then likely Portugal or Croatia in the semi, we shouldn’t be scared. Only France could trouble us the way we’re playing.

England seem to struggle against pace and press… it may not be the best footballing team that beats them in the end and it depends how the likes of France decide to play against us - they should give us no respect whatsoever but come at us and have a go… too much respect and England will I think beat them.

They knocked the ball around well and showed some flare but Poland were beyond dire and barely tried to attack.

 

You’d certainly say they’re capable but how many times have we seen Argentina just not show up. 2014 springs to mind.
