Wouldn't be shocked if we saw him in EFL trophy at Fleetwood on 7th then. Really promising to hear he's close to a return.

Hope Sammy is also having similar success with his rehab.

I have been told Braybrooke is a few weeks behind but close. There was a friendly a few of them played last week but Braybrooke didn't feature.

Braybrooke being able to just handle a few minutes for Winks over the Xmas period would be great.

I really want to see braybrooke in the winks role to help him out and prevent winks burning out or getting injured but ACL history tells me that rushing someone back into sport quickly is a disaster waiting to happen.. JJ, Ricardo, Matty James. Hope im proved wrong on this one and Braybrooke is young enough to heal better.

i think it is 4, Kel, Ndidi, Daka and Fatawu

N'didi and Kel are the only ones that will definitely go that we'll miss. Daka wont kick a ball for us again.

Fatawu, all depends on how much attention is paid to him. I'd imagine its too soon for Ghana to think about throwing him into a tournament

Although he was only used as a very late sub in one group game he did go to the World Cup

Enzo will love Alves. I predict that by Christmas he will be playing in N’didi’s roles and will be a star player.

He’s not an 8 ( well not unless he can beef up and improve his pressing/tackling)

for now we’ll see him out wide

I guess alves is only 18 still and Braybrooke 19? so one thing for sure is that they will beef up. Casey’ physicality and power has come on a lot the last couple of years for example. There will be some great opportunities in this league to bring new blood through but you are right that they may have to be willing to be flexible to get on the pitch just like mcateer was.

He was being played as an 8 a fair bit on the U21s the year up to his horrendous injury. His physique appears to have changed quite dramatically in the last year if you watch that video of him and Braybrooke being interviewed a few months back. He looks like he's much stronger.

I think he'd be one who'll play out wide or centrally like Yunus is doing.

He right footed?

And how is he for pace & dribbling / take ons vs Wanya & Kacey

I think we have to wait for him to be back and see if the injury has left any physical/mental marks on him

you’d have put him ahead of both those boys on dribbling ability pre injury - and pace is always a worry post serious knee injuries

He’ll rotate in for Mavididi when he’s ready to step up. Our wingers are encouraged to attack their opposing full back and be creative around the box, he’s made for the role.

The physicality of our 8’s is v important in enzo’s system. KDH compensates for his size with his engine and pressing. With winks as the holder, we rely on the 8’s to try and recover possession/get amongst them before the opposition can break clear on Harry.  Someone like youri would be useless as an 8 for us now whereas he managed it well with wilf behind him a few years back.

I can’t see a youngster like alves being asked to do that job whilst the league is still competitive - keeping our foot down will hopefully enable us to have a look at stuff like alves as an 8 later in the season.

I'll be honest i haven't watched our U23s whilst Will Alves has been in it but his technical ability looks really good. Think he is the best dribbler out of the 3 but whether that translates to championship level remains to be seen.

I mean no way he gets on the bench before U21 minutes but that is excellent news!

Wonder if he plays on Friday night for a half with the U21's?

I do believe he's in the team this Friday.

If he’s over his injury the next level for Alvez is to rediscover his talent for dribbling and taking on players. Maresca will work wonders with him in molding him into the best version of himself. There’s more to this game for sure and to be a complete player you have to have a lot more to your game.

feeling really good about Alvez and braybrook coming thru. What a treat this will be for us as we step another gear 2nd half of the season.

He is a Winks understudy for sure. Match made in heaven them two, in terms of Winks helping him make the step up.
