I say this more from a place of wanting to be excited rather than scepticism.

What evidence do we have that he's mustard? Appears to be common knowledge and I don't know a thing about the lad.

I haven't seen him play either. However, Enzo and his coaches promoted him to the first team squad as soon as he'd returned from injury. That's exciting enough for me.

UK's best young technical freestyle footballer, between the ages of 10 to 14 and went from there.

He played in an FA cup game and got told off by Brendan for holding on to the ball for too long!

When he was 16.

I think if you play professional football at 16, even for only 30 mins, you're not bad.

I have every confidence he'll be another Andy King like servant to the club, but with Madders' flare.

Absolutely, what I mean is the confidence. At 16 you're more likely to want to get rid of the ball to early, than try to hold it too long. .

Lad has spent a lot of time in the gym, looks stacked for his age and compared to his previous build. Will help him a lot in the Championship. Great news if he does start for the U21s tonight. Can’t wait to see him at #8 in the first team!

He's played twice for the 1st team already and has been heralded as one of the best academy products of recent years. Doesn't always equate to definitely making it but he's very talented. I trust Enzo to bring him through.

I hope he isn’t a long term steward for the club as that would suggest minimal success for us.

Dunno mate, we could do with some decent stewards.

NOBODY'S SEEN HIM PLAY!

You don't need to see him play.

It just feels right.

Look at his name for God's sake!

'Alves'.

Ohhh yeah, baby. Zidane Mk 2 in Da House.

I don't understand your comment. Provided his recovery is fully complete to bring him back to the levels he was at previously, he is a really exciting prospect. (The only reason for the abysmal challenge was his skill and frustration by the Wolves defender.) As with all young young talent, there has to be a determination to continually improve. If he can put in that work, he is the best prospect for a long time. I am confident Maresca and training team will improve decision making which has not always been the best. He appears to have the talent to become an exciting player to want to see as with any player that can beat defenders through skill.

My point was I hope he isn’t at Leicester city for ten years plus ala Andy King.

If he realises his potential, he will be playing abroad in the same vein Bellingham currently is and that probably sees Leicester City in a stronger position than the first scenario of him being a long term player here.

Some of the most prolific young players we have seen like Ronaldo, rooney, Bellingham, gavi etc all were fierce ballers. They loved the ball and wanted it all the time. There is no fear just sheer desire to do something good with it. Alvez displays the same traits.

I just hope mentally he is strong especially when hard tackles come flying in. I know I was petrified for a while everytime I got barged off the ball. Thought my knee would go out so you change your behaviour to protect it and it does affect your natural game. Alvez is a pro and has the very best support around him so will be fine in the end.

...he does have a tendency to hold on to the ball until he sees an opportunity to release it to a teammate!!!

He does look to reset himself by going around in a circle, before releasing the ball. I would still like to see if he can demonstrate an inclination or feel for a particular position. He seems to be suited to playing in the half spaces and our #8's take up this space and our wingers operate in that area also.

It wasn't for holding on for the ball to long was it? He ripped their left back two or three times then offloaded it. I think it was more to do with him taking the piss out of someone on consecutive occasions more than anything 😂
