I'm no expert but I don't think it's a career-ender any more (it used to be) but it's the type of injury that you may struggle to fully recover from. In other words, he might not be as quick as he was. I think he'll have a weakness there too.

Plenty of players have came back from ACL and had amazing careers Baggio did his at 18, Falcao at 20. 

 

Baggio went on to be one of the best players in the world and Falcao one of the most feared strikers in Europe.

I mean to be fair you really should be able to go on to a football pitch to play fellow professionals, regardless of age, and expect to not have someone deliberately try to injure you.

Yes quite. I only mention it because he clearly didn’t have to play from what Rodgers was inferring. But it’s a good indicator of the lad that he wanted to and hopefully an attitude he takes into his recovery.

We’re all high on emotion guys but it would be so good for young Will if we channeled that anger and sent him words of support via all the social media outlets. Don’t get me wrong I’m vexxed this happened to one of our players but even more it’s him.

we long for talented guys like him to come thru the ranks they entertain us so we feel robbed when something like this happens.

I’ve been thru that dreaded journey of a full ACL reconstruction and surgery and it’s a painful journey full of low moments where you feel you will never walk again let alone kick a ball! He will get great support from our senior players who have been there. It’s a real test of character. As for whether he will be the same player as he was of course not. You are never the same again BUT he can strive to be even better so I wish the lad a speedy recovery. It’s a horrible event right before the Xmas holidays too being stuck in hospital having surgery 😢

Take some comfort from the near on certainty this Wolves player won’t ever make it now. Academies and clubs won’t gamble on someone with a temper whose capable of that filth. 
 

Reminds me a lot of the lad at Sunderland who broke Diaby’s ankle and quickly disappeared (especially when there was the threat of being sued).

The very best players will play all day everyday and everywhere lol. They are a special breed! Look at pele, best, maradona, ronaldinho, Messi, Ronaldo, zlatan etc etc these guys eat sleep and breathe football. I love that Will wanted to play. I don’t blame Rogers either as you don’t expect something so extreme to happen. Nothing anyone could have done about it other than the kid who commited the foul.
