Clapping players off the pitch after a humiliating defeat to a relegation rival or walking out of the stadium at 75 minutes when we're winning

Which way western man?

I was lower tier and was embarrassed. Practically everyone around me started with “he’s won more than you”…. A club with 9 league titles. We will never ever win as much as Everton.

Also cba with the “living in the past” chants either from the same people who probably stand and clap a fvcking video montage of a trophy win from 10 years ago every home game.

To be fair to Everton they laughed and gave it back. I was embarrassed by that too.

Some fans clapping the players off the pitch again. Mental. Absolutely mental.

Stockholm Syndrome.

Its attention seeking, not only in the hope that one of those players applauds back, but it’s also the ‘look at me I’m loyal’ applause.

Spliff Ginneta and coach 1 I guess.

Support you're non league football teams at least get to a game a season.

It's everything football used to be.  It's not prem level obviously but at least most teams put a shift in

Upper tier was good in the first half, going through the old songbook.

2nd half it dropped off a bit but to be expected, the Vardy back and forth ‘banter’ is always shite even when it is actually factual, seems to be the only thing that stirs the happy clapper brigade into song during a match 🤷‍♂️

Problem is a large proportion of the home support is also on the same wavelength. I find it so surreal being in the stadium surrounded by happy clapping delusional idiots. The gulf between online opinion and the fans in the stadium is staggering.

Summed up when I spoke a match going fan at work about unrest at the Fulham game and he simply replied "What for? What about?"

Astounded.

"We'll always back the lads". Bunch of robots. Football supporting should be about emotion and unpredictability. Reacting the same way regardless suggests you aren't invested and it doesn't really matter. You don't get a nice badge for applauding them.

And there ladies and gentlemen ....is the reason we are so ****ed from top to bottom.

Its nice to blame those that want to clap, but realistically it isn't their fault we are where we are.

Would pressure on the board do anything? Highly doubtful given they live in an echo chamber.

We have sack the board chants, a protest organised and we're still shit on and off the pitch.

In mitigation (and I'm not a happy-clapper btw) ... the only thing I can think, is that at half time we're looking at a 6 or 7-0 defeat, and they clapped them off for a 2nd half effort in nearly keeping it to 3-0.  (which, of course, being incompetent, we couldn't even manage that!)

That lot would clap the hangman at their own hanging!

Well he's just doing their job, to be fair. He deserves my support. Also, it means I don't have to watch too much more of this shite.

If your one of them on this forum genuinely  please post why you applaud them.

No disrespect  but I really want to know.
