I know it's likely bs but just wanted to know people's views. I don't know enough about him.

st albans fox Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 If madders is leaving anyway in the summer then it becomes a judgment whether we stay up with a madders who may not be particularly motivated and ward in goal or a more reliable keeper and no madders. (But possibly a new player coming in Jan who may or may not be able to hit the ground running)
TrickyTrevLeftPeg Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 Reasonable keeper but not long term. We should have gone for Leno at start of season when Kasper announced he was off. However I'd be looking at Alban Lafont or Justin Bijlow whom are more suitable for a long term keeper. 3

You would think that if he’s leaving then he will have decided where he’s going. Clubs usually work big deals out ahead of time. the only possibility is he needs to show Southgate he’s worth a place in march’s squad but he may have burned that bridge with his injury.

If he knows where he's going then he and the club are breaking the laws of the game and it's assuming we're going to agree a fee and letting him go, so I have my doubts on that. 1

He was fighting Darlow for number 1 last year and one of the first things Howe did in the summer was sign a new keeper. If he was coming in as number 2 then great, but its not worth the hassle. Might as we'll persist with Ward.
