Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 Don't see him as being any better than ward.

Lad1966 Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 Why are there only rumours in positions where we don’t need any reinforcements, atm. Where are the rumours for a RW, LB & CB? Whats going on☹️
kingkisnorbo Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 You do just despair. Who confidently makes a decision like that looking at the squad as it is? 1
lcfc_forever Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 (edited) We'll look for a permanent GK in the summer transfer window when there's more value. I suspect we're going to get a couple of loan signings for now combined with spending good money on a RW and LB as January is a difficult market. Edited 2 January 2023 by lcfc_forever

Hahaha I've literally just screenshot that to come on here and say I'm tempted.
MalletFox Posted 2 January 2023 Posted 2 January 2023 Part of a deal which sees Madders go the other way (in the summer)?

We should have gone for Leno at start of season when Kasper announced he was off. However I'd be looking at Alban Lafont or Justin Bijlow whom are more suitable for a long term keeper. Both way out of out league. Bigger and better clubs would go for these if they became available.

If not sold, for the betterment of his career I'd look to move like Soyuncu! To be honest, recruitment has been a shambles mostly since Rodgers has been here, not that I'm saying it's all his fault, but he and sidekick Congerton have to shoulder some of the blame. You really can't blame players like Maddison and to a lesser extent Tielemans wanting to leave because if I were them, I'd see no vision, ambition or future at Leicester. Just as much as the playing staff need refreshing, so does the management and coaching staff. If Top and the board don't see that themselves then I find that rather curious and the future looks bleak for the club. I certainly don't think certain people would have been getting such a comfortable ride under Vichai. 1
Sunbury Fox Posted 3 January 2023 Posted 3 January 2023 These sort of links suggest that we are now firmly an also ran bottom half club, happy to make cheap, uninspired signings from more successful PL clubs on the basis that they are "PL proven". It's sad to see really. 1
RowlattsFox Posted 3 January 2023 Posted 3 January 2023 I'm no Ward fan, but if we sort the other areas we need strengthening we can manage with him until the summer. (or give Iversen a go)

It's sad to see really. It's just a 'link' though? We haven't actually signed him. I'm sure we were linked to absolute dross and has-beens even when we won the league or in the 2-3 seasons that followed... 1
splinterdream Posted 3 January 2023 Posted 3 January 2023 What is criminal about this is we could have an amazing keeper, who had an amazing season last season, sat on the bench. Give the lad a chance ffs 2

escape2victory Posted 6 January 2023 Posted 6 January 2023 I can see it panning out where we bring him in as the number 2, sell Iversen to Stoke. In the summer sell Ward and bring in a new number 1. Then our GK department would be the new number 1, Dubravka as number 2 and Smithies as emergency number 3. I’d be happy with that
