Voted No because I genuinely think the squad is the bigger issue - have done for the last 15 months after having thought at the start of last season Rodgers was the bigger issue. I’m not saying someone else couldn’t come in and get more from them (just a fresh voice might work wonders) but that the chance they don’t is significant and getting rid of Rodgers + getting a new manager diverts resources away from sorting the squad which clearly needs as much resources as possible.

Rodgers’ role in recruitment and injuries is subject to much conjecture here and I take onboard that some of it is likely true so he’s not without blame for why we’re where we are but tonight for example he was woefully short in what he could send out against an opposition flying high.

I’m not going to be upset if he goes though. I’m a bit disappointed that the hate for him has fermented to such an extent that I’m not sure all the good stuff his teams have produced will be remembered as well as it should be.

I think he needs to go but I agree with what you've said

The problems run deeper than him

I voted no, if anything just to piss off all these overly negative tw@ts that calls themselves fans.

Is there much to be positive about at the moment?

I have been a fan of this club for over 40 years. I have seen it at its lowest, but I have never felt so detached from it like now.

We are desperate for change. It is sheer lunacy to keep him in charge.

Rodgers needs to go but it would be naive to believe that the club would see a huge upturn if he did. Regardless of who is manager, the club is rotten from top to bottom. Actual Top needs to either start making some big decisions to steer the club back in the right direction by clearing the board room and hangers on at the club and bringing in competent people to run the club, or sell up and allow somebody else to make these changes at the club. Even if we stay up this season, the current future of the club looks grim and the disconnect between club and fans is worse than ever!

Cheers mate, I'll be seeing you in Blackpool next season supporting our lads.

Im in Australia and maybe if Rodgers has departed I can get a feeling of enthusiasm for my club again, I dont really care if that's in the championship, id probably rather be in the championship without him than be in the premier league with hm.

The style of play is just...negative.

I think Daka today seen more action in the middle of the pitch than he did upfront.

Rodgers is obsessed with playing one upfront and i just don't believe it works.

Look at that Newcastle starting XI that just battered us. Sean longstaff and Joelinton in midfield, willock and almiron on the wing, schar and Dan burn in defence. 12 months ago you would have a strong case to say that you would struggle to stay up with a side assembled with those players, let alone be in the running for the champions league.

Rodgers has made players like tielemans, ndidi, soyuncu, daka etc look mediocre. Give someone else this squad and suddenly it will look good again, I can almost guarantee it.

Well, as I say, I wouldn't base job decisions on tonight alone.. reactionary is never good.

And playing devils advocate, you could say that he recognised 11 months ago -  ie 7 months into the 'down cycle' - that the squad needed a refresh and he was effectively shat on by the Board this summer in his refresh plans. De Ketelare was clearly lined up for example

I too wouldn't base it on tonight alone, but I'd still sack the....

Also, do you not think there is a possibility that him "clearly" having De Ketalare lined up, could actually have been a load of dj spinmaster spike total bullshit.

Oh, I believe he had at least one lined up, but on the balance of probabilities, isn't it more likely a swap deal of iheanacho for Ryan Bennett and cengiz under mk 2?
