20 million + 70k a week is very high for a player who will not get into our best starting 11.
When our finances are tight, I can’t see us doing this. We are getting Perez

off the wage bill and replacing him with like for like.

No we are not - he can play wide and off the front -26 years old, hungry, fits the system, versatile and a fantastic work ethic.

Improves the starting 11 and will play…

Asked my mate about him in a broader sense and he reckons he doesn’t get in their best 11 as it stands.

Ask any ardent Leeds fan and they would have him in their team over Arronson

Yeah historically I think you’re probably right but sounds like a few have lost their rag with him, not to dissimilar to Barnes. Can be good, can be shit, wildly inconsistent.

Edit: not specifically for Aaronson by the way, but historically would have him in the team.

Is Tanner just putting Harrison’s name on his article as he knows nothing else, or are we still serious about this?! I guess we need more wide cover, especially for Barnes, but surely there’s someone out there for less money…

A question as to whether this is us preparing for a post-Maddison world…

It 100% is, but I still contend it makes absolutely no sense for Leeds.  If Harrison absolutely forced a move they wouldn't sell him to a direct rival in January.

Funny how this thread has gone from wtf no way, don't want him, he's rubbish to gerrimin.

At £35m which was being bandied about, as first choice signing I agree, it would be bad business. With Tete in the bank, and as a backup for £20m it suddenly makes more sense I suppose.

I’m yet to know how reliable this source is but they do work in news and don’t see why they wouldn’t tell me the truth but I’ve been told that we are after Harrison as well as Tete not either or

Judging by Marsch's comments yesterday, I fully believe that we've had contact and are in discussion about him.

I agree. £35m to play him out of position is bad news. £20m to give us depth and versatility with Tete in is good.

Get him him! Just like Trossard at Arsenal when people raised eyebrows and a lot of arsenal fans didn't want him but he's shown his class and Harrison would play in a similar way as he does across the front .

Any added pace into this team is a good thing, workrate and energy will free up our full backs to get forward as well.

Not a headline grabbing signing but a solid move

With VK here now and JJ eventually back, this is important - Barnes can hopefully learn from him how to defend

it’s a definite yes from me

Think it’s Ornstein who wrote the article

Tete Barnes Maddison

Harrison cover for those three options makes sense

Harrison won't move just to be a cover/back-up. He'll want to be starting.

He knows that to earn 75-80k/week he can’t force that

he could go to a ‘smaller’ club and earn 50k and play every week

if he performs then he plays

we are planning for life after madders anyway

He might be keen if he's on Perez like wages for 5 years

Really don't think this would be a good idea. He wouldn't start for us and would want 60k+ a week I imagine. Think Bielsa's system made him look better than he actually is.

I was looking at his stats last night because I wasn't sure about him and in direct comparison to Barnes, they aren't bad.

Barnes scores more and is more direct at running with the ball but Harrison seems more of a team player. More passes, more forward passes, more through balls and more crosses mean he usually gets more assists than Harvey. He  is also far superior in every aspect of the the defensive side of the game.

Given the form of Barnes and pur inability to hold a lead, he would be a very good option to bring in when 1-0 up. Makes us more stable but doesn't take away that forward threat completely.
