Spend that 30m on a first choice CB and a proper.GK. A man with dark glasses and a stick at LW improves our team now…
reynard Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 Find this move of ours a bit strange. never worth more than 20 million considering he and his agent, of course, will be looking for a decent pay increase. I do think a CB is more important right now. 1

StanSP Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 I wouldn't be averse to signing him, but only for the right amount. Weakens a rival, and brings us a lot of energy which is much needed in midfield, and generally all over the pitch. We've often bemoaned the lack of depth in the squad, but Harrison can give us that as a different option for that attacking midfield behind the striker. I think it helps that he's versatile, too. 1
Clever Fox Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 He scored a cracking goal in the Cup yesterday and set up another great chance. He looks strong and an improvement on our fringe players like Perez and Praet. Maybe we can strike a pre Summer deal if Leeds wont let him go now. While we secure a new CB we so badly need.

Whereas our midfield options are KDH, Mendy, Praet, Ndidi, Tielemans and Soumare. Assuming Perez leaves. The squads still unbalanced and Harrison (or another attacker) starts to address that. 5
kingkisnorbo Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 It’s January so your expected to pay over the odds, which justifies Leeds wanting that much for him. He’d be £20 million, maybe even less, in May.

Think this is the thinking behind it? Like Newcastle did to Burnley last season? Take a rival team’s more influential players away from them and bolster our squad?

CrispinLA in Texas Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 Leeds will make a nice profit on him if they sell him for the reported 35m they want for him, they got him for only 11m in 2021. Think Leeds are definitely wanting to sell with only 18 months left on his contract and he not signing a new one and wanting a bigger salary

He’s not agitating for a move so if Leeds sell him, it’s because they want to, so they’re not going to disadvantage themselves.

Sunbury Fox Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 (edited) I get some of the arguments from people about the benefits of this signing but the big fat opportunity cost of making it is that we leave unaddressed glaring weaknesses in our starting XI, assuming there isn't enough money to buy Harrison as well as a proper GK and a PL level CB. Grebfromgrebland Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 This could be termed 'managed decline' as we slowly replace those out of contract with average bumf.

pazzerfox Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 I watched him last season unser Bielsa when Leeds played Villa away and Harrison was superb. He is used to high intensity pressing, and we are looking for players in january to hit the ground running, so it's a decent signing if the price is right. 2
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 29 January 2023 Popular Post Posted 29 January 2023 My concern about this deal is the knock on effect to future business. We need 10+ new players and they can't all be £20m +, in fact I'd say a good handful of them need to be made up of some free transfers or under £10m. We haven't resolved the long term RW position until we agree a fee post June for Tete and Harrison isn't the answer at RW long term either. I think he'd improve the squad, but not the first team and I just don't see how £20-30m signings can be afforded on anything other than stand out starting XI players. We need at least 2-3 of them. This bothers me 13
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 (edited) Just looking through the Leeds FC forum, concerning that many fans don't rate him that highly and his performance have dropped throughout the years at Leeds. Edited 29 January 2023 by CrispinLA in Texas
teblin Posted 29 January 2023 Posted 29 January 2023 Seems that we must have some inside info that he would be open to the move.

I don’t know much about him to be fair. But I used to sit near people that said Mahrez was rubbish, football fans are a fickle bunch. 3

You can't really trust what some people on a forum says. For instance there is a growing minority on here who think Harvey Barnes is shit. Edited 29 January 2023 by The whole world smiles 14 1
