crisp packet Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 https://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-leicester-want-player-magpies-will-make-one-last-attempt-close-signing/ Newcastle United and Leicester City are in the picture to sign Real Betis’ Nabil Fekir in the summer, according to Fichajes.net. the attacking midfielder’s contract expires in 2026 but the La Liga side know they won’t be able to keep him after this season. Therefore, they are open to selling him and have set a €30m asking price. https://www.footballfancast.com/newcastle-united-transfer-rumours/newcastle-almiron-fekir-howe-premier-league-transfer According to reports in Spain – via Sports Witness – the Magpies are said to be one of a handful of Premier League sides who are interested in the 29-year-old, with both Manchester United and Leicester City also named as potential suitors. The report suggests that despite the Frenchman having just over three years left to run on his existing deal in Seville, the La Liga side are seemingly aware that they may have to cash in this summer amid the mounting interest, with a fee of around €30m (£26m) having been suggested.
Lesta2014 Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 Weren’t his knee knackered and that’s why never joined liverpool in big money move a few year ago? 2
scinnell Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 This is a signing of the old Leicester that I hoped we moved away from. 1
filbertway Posted 22 February 2023 Posted 22 February 2023 Neither team would be shambolic enough to sign him. It's got West Ham/Everton written all over it. 3

Sly Posted 23 February 2023 Posted 23 February 2023 Wasn’t he chased by Liverpool for ages, then bizarrely opted to go to La Liga?
JimJams Posted 23 February 2023 Posted 23 February 2023 He didn't opt to, he failed his Liverpool medical. Knee issue. Though his team said that was BS. 1

Silva a euros winner tbf. Vestegaard and inler certainly arent the same as Fekir. Guess I see where you’re coming for though.
Wymsey Posted 23 February 2023 Posted 23 February 2023 (edited) Probably would've said yes to this a few years ago, hadn't the club got Maddison/Tielemans and when a new forward-thinkimg player in the middle was needed. But just think the middle has a good combination of what's needed for a successful midfield and doubt this player would not start often. Edited 23 February 2023 by Wymsey

Journeyman is harsh. I don't want us to sign him but at his best he's very good. He just has legs made out of confetti. He's made a pretty respectable career for himself for a guy with the worst knees in sport.

Not sure Fekir counts as a journeyman with his grand total of two clubs. Also, solely youth isn’t what won us the title. There was a solid mix of 30ish players (Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Simpson, Okazaki) and great scouting (Mahrez, Kante, Vardy).
