Yes, around July last year.

It's all becoming clear now. He wanted out but Top wouldn't give him the compensation for a mutual severance agreement that protects Brand Brendan.

My Father lives in a village just minutes away from Wysall, just outside of Loughborough, where Rodgers lived.

A friend of his who lives  in the village said to him that his wife didn't feel comfortable with people knowing they were living there and not giving them much privacy and wanted to live closer to her family in the north-west.

To be fair (I know it’s hard when you hate someone so much) but if I, or anyone on here, was due a severance upon termination of a contract - NO ONE would accept a penny less than what they felt they deserved (contractually).

I don't 'hate someone so much', just piecing together the time line of when it all started to unravel. Of course he would want maximum payout (he's a professional) but the potential cost of relegation far outweighs any severance package. Perhaps a lesson learned by King Power.

His wife missed her family all the way through COVID understandably. Nothing sinister behind it at all.

My mistake.  I took your last line of “Brand Brendan” as someone having another go

I’m sure KP knew the pitfalls of a contract “buyout”.  It’s something you have to offer, or no one would sign one with you.  So while it was a pain this go round, the next manager will also have one.

OMG. Really? I'm confused by your post.

His manager "head" is him totally, there is no difference, he's not Dr Jackle and Mr Hyde.  His personality of being a self-centered, egotistical, narcissisic, blame shifting, PR Machine and also a sh1t manager is the whole package.

I'm not having a pop, and if I've miss interprepretted something  I'll get my apology in early.

You are also a better person than me as I certainly won't be "wishing him the best" and just ecstatic he's finally gone.

Don’t listen to me I liked Adrian Silva

May have been posted before but it seems like Merse is back in the sauce

On a podcast a while back he mentioned about regretting slagging off Maguire so asking Brendan for his number to apologise.

Wasn't a surprise to me after hearing how much he's been up Brendan's arse on Soccer Saturday that he has his mobile number.

I think one of Brendan's tactics through the years has been to acquaint pundits from various platforms to be honest. You got to hand it to the ****er, he knows how to play the game.

So disappointed with his antics this season. That pre-Man United interview where he threw his owners under the bus, the most loyal owners he'll ever have, to get the likes of Robbie Savage and Rio Ferdinand on side was disgraceful. His regular putting down of a squad that had significantly helped him finish highly and win trophies. The negative, defeatist attitude. The lack of anything substantially different on the pitch from the usual turgid stuff served up. That nonsense in the Brentford match on the opening day.

Said it before that we needed a galvaniser this season, somebody prepared to dig in and accept things might not be exactly to their liking, but got the total opposite.

He really can have no complaints. I hope, in private, he'll reflect on it.

The irony of this is after the Southampton (A) loss he called for unity and said we should all “stick together”. The time to do that was the beginning of the season, not when he realised he ran out of excuses.

I just want to share that I'm so, so happy. I've drunk a bottle of my favourite armagnac and I'm dancing to 70's hits. Thank you, finally Top!

God I love Errol Brown

It's a Monday night you barbarian

Glad that Danny Higginbotham is an occasional guest on our coverage here. Can speak to things going on beyond the popular clubs for Americans. Spitting some truth here, starting at 7:30 (David Ornstein was on right before him).

That 2 minutes is more accurate than any punditry I've heard over here since the sacking

Didn't he sell his house near Seagrave and move to Cheshire at about the time as he appeared to lose interest?

I’m not on the Socials, but I haven’t seen an article about the players thanking Rodgers, any of them post anything?

If not, shows how toxic Rodgers’ relationship with the squad had gotten - but you won’t hear any of the pundits or journalists talk about it.

Just as likely is that they have had a three line whip to not.

The good old “I did my bit” defence, with a liberal sprinkling of “I sweat blood to improve you every day, yet alas, it was not possible to improve you enough”
