Remember those Celtic fans posting sad act stuff about wanting Brendan Rodgers dead? Let's be better than that. Let's stay classy.

Some of the football we played before the Pandemic was out of this world, scintillating stuff.

What followed was a general decline with the odd bright uptick and he had to go and should have gone sooner.

We need to have some perspective here guys. One liners like **** him or whatever at a similar note aren't constructive. I was BR out but the OP is stating some facts. Regarding what's happened this season the blame is divided: Both the board and BR are responsible for our situation. The board was watching the iceberg getting closer to the ship and they were thinking the autopilot would avoid the crash. BR was watching the same huge iceberg and he was insisting it wasn't an iceberg but a snowman.

Anyway, it's not the time to start blaming everyone. It's the time for fight and urgency. It's the time for players like Vardy to step up. Just put Vardy and Iheanacho up front with Maddison behind them for all the games remaining. It's also time for us the fans to support the team like 14/15 and 15/16. Stay up and season 23/24 will be different.

I know this is going to go down like a plate of cold sick and I completely accept that it was time for him to go. But there's a lot of revisionism going on about his time at city.

I've seen several people describe the FA cup win as lucky, i mean with respect Fu×k off we beat 4 premier league sides including Chelsea and man United and if all you need to win it is a bit of luck how come no one else managed it in 137 attempts?

Anyway here are some cold hard facts that will show that despite all the bitterness, toxidity and anger on the board recently in the context of the clubs history his tenure has been one of the most successful of any manger

- Brendan was in charge for 2 of 3 best finishes in the clubs entire history.

- after 137 failed attempts was the only manger in our entire 139 year history to win the FA Cup beating Man United and Chelsea in process.

- beat every single member of the supposed top 6 at least twice.

- reached the quarter finals in cup competitions 4 times the semis twice and of course won one.

Thanks for getting paid a fortune whilst driving this club into the ground. Oh, and yes, would love to know how you managed to brainwash Top, Rudkin and Whelan into A Grade performing marionettes for so long.

He inherited a very good squad, just like Peter Taylor did, Taylor took us to the top of the Premier League at one point, Brendan won the FA Cup. But over time, both were ultimately found out, complete fraudsters! So his time reminds me of Taylor, in that he had early success through what was given to him, not what he carved out himself.

Ruined the club - stifled the progressive attacking football we were known for.

I'm not buying this 'European Semi Final' rot either. We should never have been in the Conference League.

We played some excellent stuff under his tenure early on. I specifically remember a game against Arsenal, beat them 2-0 on a wet day and absolutely played them off the park. Thought after that game "we've got a proper team here"

Shame it went how it did, ran it's course at least a year ago.

Glad someone did this, he did a decent job for forst 2 and a bit years and won the FA Cup, but his football at times was awful to watch and he was tactically one dimensional, I won't miss him but I appreciate the cup success and some of the huge nights we had at the KP

As a club who are staring relegation in the face in part due to this man, this thread is truly repulsive right now imho

Also Rudkin / whelan / top are equally to blame

I think if he'd been sacked when he should have been sacked he'd be remembered alot more fondly, as it is I think alot more time will need to pass before we can appreciate the first couple of years (especially if we go down)

Exactly this

He's obviously been poor this season but the sheer hate for the guy on this forum has seen the players, none of which (bar one or two) have been better than a 6/10 this season, get given a free ride.
