Vacamion Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Remember those Celtic fans posting sad act stuff about wanting Brendan Rodgers dead? Let's be better than that. Let's stay classy. Some of the football we played before the Pandemic was out of this world, scintillating stuff. What followed was a general decline with the odd bright uptick and he had to go and should have gone sooner. 1 1
Popular Post Bourbon Fox Posted 2 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 2 April 2023 He did well. Then he did shit. Cheers Brendan, see you later. 6
Popular Post David Hankey Posted 2 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 2 April 2023 Well, I for one, thank Brendan for bringing the FA Cup to Leicester. After 4 failed attempts and witnessing 3 of them this was one of the Club's finest hours (or 90 minutes). 8
kingkisnorbo Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Be interested to see if the rhetoric surrounding him softens in the years to come.
Fear Of The Fox Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 We need to have some perspective here guys. One liners like **** him or whatever at a similar note aren't constructive. I was BR out but the OP is stating some facts. Regarding what's happened this season the blame is divided: Both the board and BR are responsible for our situation. The board was watching the iceberg getting closer to the ship and they were thinking the autopilot would avoid the crash. BR was watching the same huge iceberg and he was insisting it wasn't an iceberg but a snowman. Anyway, it's not the time to start blaming everyone. It's the time for fight and urgency. It's the time for players like Vardy to step up. Just put Vardy and Iheanacho up front with Maddison behind them for all the games remaining. It's also time for us the fans to support the team like 14/15 and 15/16. Stay up and season 23/24 will be different. 4
Popular Post Dames Posted 2 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 2 April 2023 We need to get past this season before we can see things positively. If we get relegated then history will not be as favourable but if we survive and stabilise then we can all look at things a lot more positively, especially those first 2 years. 5
Spudulike Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 36 minutes ago, The whole world smiles said: I know this is going to go down like a plate of cold sick and I completely accept that it was time for him to go. But there's a lot of revisionism going on about his time at city. I've seen several people describe the FA cup win as lucky, i mean with respect Fu×k off we beat 4 premier league sides including Chelsea and man United and if all you need to win it is a bit of luck how come no one else managed it in 137 attempts? Anyway here are some cold hard facts that will show that despite all the bitterness, toxidity and anger on the board recently in the context of the clubs history his tenure has been one of the most successful of any manger - Brendan was in charge for 2 of 3 best finishes in the clubs entire history. - after 137 failed attempts was the only manger in our entire 139 year history to win the FA Cup beating Man United and Chelsea in process. - beat every single member of the supposed top 6 at least twice. - reached the quarter finals in cup competitions 4 times the semis twice and of course won one. *Premier League history
l444ry Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Thanks for getting paid a fortune whilst driving this club into the ground. Oh, and yes, would love to know how you managed to brainwash Top, Rudkin and Whelan into A Grade performing marionettes for so long. 3
Popular Post OntarioFox Posted 2 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 2 April 2023 (edited) Ain't the time for this thread. He's left us royally in the shit when both he and we all know he should have fallen on his sword months ago (perhaps a year ago depending on your opinion of last season.) I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that he's potentially killed the club with his decisions since we won the FA Cup. We've got 10 games left to avoid a potentially long stay back in the doldrums, which could be financially ruinous for our club. I'm not going to say thanks to the man responsible for that, regardless of whether or not he won us one piece of silverware. Today's just relief, but bittersweet relief knowing that we might have now left it too late to turn it around. The board need to take a long, hard look at themselves for their cowardice in taking this long to act. Edited 2 April 2023 by OntarioFox 5

iancognito Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Brilliant first two years, shocking last two years. That's my appreciation done.

Popular Post splinterdream Posted 2 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 2 April 2023 I'm a Leicester City fan, so i want a manager to come in, and appreciate the responsibility, the history, and what a privilige the role of Leicester manager is. I expect the duties to be - to improve the squad through transfers and coaching, to oversee development of youth players, and importantly, to promote the club. Brendan Rodgers was really fortunate with the squad he inherited, a squad i thought was destined for top 6, but right from the start, he downplayed the club, belittled the squad and thats why i think very few fans connected with him, despite the FA cup and charity shield, he just couldn't stop thinking he'd rather be in charge somewhere else, we had to pay him huge sums just to keep him here, so despite his success on the pitch, he just ruined it off the pitch. 4 1
Samilktray Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 As a club who are staring relegation in the face in part due to this man, this thread is truly repulsive right now imho 2 1
Dahnsouff Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Will be remembered more over time, now not so much. 4
SK3Blue Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 He inherited a very good squad, just like Peter Taylor did, Taylor took us to the top of the Premier League at one point, Brendan won the FA Cup. But over time, both were ultimately found out, complete fraudsters! So his time reminds me of Taylor, in that he had early success through what was given to him, not what he carved out himself. 1 1
Guest Mee-9 Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Ruined the club - stifled the progressive attacking football we were known for. I'm not buying this 'European Semi Final' rot either. We should never have been in the Conference League.
Brainy Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Great, by starting this thread you've given The Year Of The Fox etc a home for the foreseeable 2 1
wardyfox86 Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 We played some excellent stuff under his tenure early on. I specifically remember a game against Arsenal, beat them 2-0 on a wet day and absolutely played them off the park. Thought after that game "we've got a proper team here" Shame it went how it did, ran it's course at least a year ago.
the draper Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 Glad someone did this, he did a decent job for forst 2 and a bit years and won the FA Cup, but his football at times was awful to watch and he was tactically one dimensional, I won't miss him but I appreciate the cup success and some of the huge nights we had at the KP 1

Brainy Posted 2 April 2023 Posted 2 April 2023 He's obviously been poor this season but the sheer hate for the guy on this forum has seen the players, none of which (bar one or two) have been better than a 6/10 this season, get given a free ride. 1
