If going down has more chance of getting Mr Rudkin out, I'm all for it. We all know we'll be rotting at the lower end of the championship even if we do stay up.

From I’ve read here and elsewhere he shows many signs of being on the spectrum, chronically lacking in self awareness and probably with incredible levels of self belief. It can be incredibly hard to work with people with these traits, and from personal experience they can be incredibly toxic and burdensome to those around them. Sound familiar?

I think you’re getting mixed up with Narcissistic Personality Disorder.  Bit harsh on Autistic people, that.

Alex Smithies posted this in his LinkedIn page today about the day he retired and how he was treated by our wonderful club and especially the DoF speaks volumes …….

“How much do you want?”

In December 2023, I went to London to see my knee surgeon. I walked into that appointment as a footballer and walked out knowing it was over.

The surgeon told me I needed to retire immediately. My knee was no longer compatible with professional sport.

The next day, I sat down with the Director of Football at my club. I told him I’d been playing since I was 6… and now it was over.

His response?

“Okay… so how much do you want?”

No empathy. No conversation. Just business.

I left the training ground expecting a call from the manager. A message. Something.

I’m still waiting.

And just like that… it was done. On my own.

Rudkin "Okay how much do you want"

Smithies "£20000"

Rudkin "Okay £40000 it is"

Announce the statue or perhaps the Jon Rudkin stand to commemorate his success :chant:

Does the Jon Rudkin Stand consist of  knocking down the West Stand and smashing all the glass on the outside? Especially the badge bit as that is basically the equivalent of what the clown has done!

I would love to be a fly on the wall, documentary style, to see how Rudkin spends his time, day by day, week by week. I suspect he actually does very little of substance, and is rarely flat out busy, as he only seems to do stuff at the last minute on deadline day etc when agents tell him who is available.

What is he actually doing to justify his position and salary?

As fans, we are completely and deliberately kept out of the loop as to what his direction of travel, strategy, plan or approach is around the running of the football club. I suspect it's because he doesn't really have one, keeps everything close to his chest and knows he can continually hoodwink the Thais based on his close relationship with the Chairman.

All told, an absolute disgrace that he is still here and drawing a salary - he's taking the piss out of us all and if he had an ounce of integrity he would have resigned years ago.

Was it Nick Mashiter who said on on when you’re smiling several weeks back that when we were looking for a director of football a number of candidates ruled themselves out or were concerned about how much autonomy they’d have within in the role.

Sounds like a sissy. So how much did he get? Rudkin is known as a generous spender.

Especially when you consider we’ve spent £0 on transfer fees but £6 million in agent payments lol

Perhaps. Clearly not everyone is the same and symptoms can overlap.

What I’d really like to know or hear more about is the logic behind some of the contracts he’s dished out which for years have consistently been beyond belief. I wonder whether it relates to his personality type?

It's not surprising. Plenty of anecdotes have come out over the yeras to say that Rudkin has an awful reputation in the game, stands to reason that managers/DoFs etc would swerve us. There's not an infinite talent pool in the game and there's only so many Wasserman candidates we can be offered.

And to think Aiyawatt credits him with masterminding the PL title win 🤣 nothing to do with the structures that had been in place for years developed by Pearson, Shakey and Walsh et el…

Top would have seen first hand what the right people, structures and processes could for a club, he was 26 when KP took over, you think he would have picked dup some bits here or there.

But given we know what he's like now, he was just on a jolly

The biggest issue is that Top is an absolute cretinous moron.

Rudkin is useless but he's being enabled by a more useless owner who actually doesn't really care that much about the club now.

So Rudkin is allowed to continue, and will be allowed to continue.

It's not in Rudkin's interests to see someone else at the club, so he'll keep kissing ass and keeping the one person who enables him happy.

He doesn't give a shit about the club either.

It's that simple - it's not exactly unique to our club either, it happens in businesses everywhere....

And the organisation is already full of junior yes men, and perhaps in McCarron they’ve found another?

Nick Mashiter is a good journalist. Even better at stealing your toilet…

Was it Charlie Methven who likened to him to the idiot son of a billionaire? It must be hard to motivate yourself to carry on the family fortune and grow it when you can sit back, play polo and spaff it all up the wall with no consequence to yourself. Or perhaps not if you have any self respect.

Perhaps he’s even more damaging than we think, if good candidates for jobs are apprehensive because of his reputation in the game for being a clown and don’t come here because of him.

Won't happen though. We'll become a third division club still employing Rudkin.

This is all very questionable. Is it Amotized payments due from earlier transfers. Or is it something else.?

We know from the old days transfers happened between the Clubs. We sign someone for say 5 million we hand over 5 and get the player. That's it.

When you introduce more compelxity

into transfers you create an environment for corruption. Which I believe is rampant in the Game today.

He's part of the problem we are where we are.

But I believe the real problem is KP parent Co don't want to invest any more money into the club.

Maintly because they're not football people. Or is it because they're not happy with how Top is running the Club.

The idiot needs to go, he is quite literally having a massive negative impact on people’s lives due to his ineptitude. It’s the only lever we can pull and there needs to be a concerted effort to get him gone. He has ruined our club

There has been efforts to get him gone but the people standing up to this regime are getting slated constantly by the KP Brigade. People are too loyal to this cult. We need rid of the rot before the damage gets worse. The fanbase is literally against each other all because of the boards failings of the club.
