I’ll get behind them, but I can’t see us surviving this season. Will be better than the great escape IMO if we pull it off from the dire position we have put ourselves in on and off the pitch

It gives us a very slim chance. But my worry is the damage has already been done with league position and player mentality. Especially with a group of them leaving and the end of the season no matter what happens.

But I'll get behind them and get my hopes up!

It is what it is. Could have been better, could have been worse.

Really not the worst decision given the situation (timing of sacking brendan, likelihood of relegation etc)

A short term deal to then reassess in the summer is what we needed, and given that, these fellas are probably the best option that would actually take the job.

More negative because it is uninspiring and I was fully behind the Benitez choice that looked clear at lunchtime. I hope that they can produce something better than the dirge we've served up for most of the season.

Much more confident in those guys to give us a chance to bounce back next season, than I would in Marsch and his corporate, feel-good, high-energy b*llshit.

Nothing can save us from relegation this season, but we need to make sure we come straight back up.

Im not going to lie, im far more optimistic now i know Terry will be joining aswell. Think he will be massive for his leadership and coaching of the defence. Could generally see the mentality of the squad being being changed now. Obviously it will come down to Smiths tactics which im

not convinced about so its still 50/50. But Shakespeare and JT are deffo good to have in the dressing room

Happy we are making a move on someone. On it’s his own Smith doesn’t fill me with confidence but it does seem to make sense for what we need, with the other two in the mix it actually looks quite appealing.

I voted no to staying up as I think there is a lot to do and on balance it is a big ask, but I think we’ve got a fighting shot. A look at the fixtures for others gives me hope as well as there are six pointers everywhere

Our choices were always going to be limited and there's much worse possibilities.

Hopefully Terry might be able to guide our defence in the right direction.

Most important thing, we've got to give them Man City as a free pass.

The real business starts after that fixture.
