Most important thing, we've got to give them Man City as a free pass.

The real business starts after that fixture.

As long as we see something different in the style of play.

If they want to continue with Rodgers ball they don't deserve anything.

Yes and yes we can do it. This is as much if not more about the mind than the football talent. We know we've got good enough players still, but there's no confidence or belief which drained away under Rodgers. Stowell and Sadler were never going to change that. These can though.

I think I've hated the bulk of the last 18 months that much that literally anything different was going to lift me. I've always quite liked Smith without being sure how highly I rated him, but he just strikes me as a really sound bloke and one I'd like to see do well.

I really disliked Rodgers, and as much as anything, the attitude towards us that we were lucky to have our manager subtly lecturing us on how tinpot we are. It made me not hate losing as much as I should.

It's a bad situation and one we've entirely put ourselves into, but within the context of that, I'm fairly happy with it - I've said all season "even an interim would do better than this" and now we see.

Think the ****er is that relegation is going to hurt more now if it happens lol

An interesting dissonance in the results here - people being mostly happy with the appointment but thinking those appointed will still fail their stated aims by not keeping us up.

I want to know what they sell at Championshop. I can’t be the only one.

Buzzcuts, Vardy knock Offs,

Replica Mahrez's and white sneakers.

Overall negative from me but no reflection on the individuals appointed, more really astounded the multi millionaire project ownership model really hadn't a scoobys and had to scramble like this. Clowns. Smith & Terry must be as surprised as anyone.

The might have kept Leicester up but its probably a month too late, every error is a defining one from here on in & confidence is shot.

This is simple to understand, most recognise that the rot generated for over 3 years doesn't just disappear overnight. I'd give the analogy of someone who is say 5 stone overweight. You can soon put into place a plan, which involves a good diet and exercise, but just sticking to it for 6 weeks isn't going to solve the issue in that period of time. Our horrific injury and fitness record can't suddenly be erased. The new 'SST' trio can do a good job and we can still get relegated. They could average 1.5 points a game, which would be a very good return, and we could still go down. Whether we survive or not, the Club needs considerable work to compete at this level again.

Thank you for the insight, it tallies with what I thought and it would appear a lot of people share the sentiment, and it's easy to see why.

However, I'm not entirely sold on the idea myself that the damage done will take that long to recover from or that it renders us a mic higher probability of relegation this season than not. I guess only time will tell on that one, though.

In other news: birthdays bring you closer to death, Xmas destroys the environment, and you never need to say ‘I love you’ because it should be obvious.

What a little bundle of joy.

Imagine if we actually played some front foot football. Actually get the ball forward when the op arrived rather than sideway.

The place will go ****ing mental (a few cheers)

I voted negative at the start but was more like 'meh' but feeling more positive now. Interesting to see how many Villa fans rate him and want him to do well (accounting for the fact he's one of their own) which I think speaks volumes. I think the addition of John Terry is massive*, even just as a presence. I remember watching Football Focus ages ago and a segment in which Mings and Konsa both talked glowingly about his coaching.

This is also taught me how incredibly fickle I am.

*still object to him as a man but hey, he's wearing an LCFC tracksuit so he can't be all bad.

Positive about the appointment. Solid team of three. I sense those turning their noses up are more likely doing so as his name is not exotic enough.

Regarding relegation, I do think it’s too late. Had we made the change after Brentford away and given them the last 3 games, or at least the two homes games, I’d feel much more positive.

Then again, someone on another thread made the point that maybe Bournemouth had to happen….I guess we will see.

It's grown on me , was rolling my eyes when I first heard the news but Iv become more positive.  We all need to be positive now , we cant blame these three for anything that's gone on this season, time for everybody to get behind them and the players.

Yes Daggers

My only consolation is the large pre WC bet I put on it.  Four figure payout silver lining should it come to it.

What will you have by way of comforting crumbs ?  Tears is it   ?

All over bar the crying now.

The weeping is yet to come.
