I clicked negative about the appointment and staying up.

It's not exactly what I was hoping for when we sacked Rodgers but we're only 2pts from safety and have every chance of staying up. We couldn't go on with the current two who are the same voices. Smith, Shakespeare and Terry will be new voices and new ideas and all will demand respect in their own right and we needed to do something and quickly as we're going down if we do the same thing and stay on the same trajectory. We've shook it up and gave ourselves a chance and this squad should be nowhere near the relegation zone.

I'm Postitive about both..... Perhaps it's because we've actually got a manager who's not Rogers or someone we've gotta be stuck with for years. Villa fans have abated some of my concerns by their positive experience with Smith also.

Yesterday I was convinced we were going down. Today however, I see a ray of sunshine and truly think we might actually stay in the PL. Our fixtures aren't actually that bad ,If we get back to basics I think we'll be alright.

Dammit. His interview has kindled hope in me. This is going to be a ridiculous end to the season given what we’ve endured.

Can we actually do this?

Watching the interview, I did think how refreshing to have what seems a nice, pleasant person managing us. Less concerned with ego, genuinely feels lucky and pleased to be here.

I like it. Smith did well at Villa, I've got a lot of mates who are villa fans and they've all said its a solid appointment due to the current situation.

We all know what we get with Shakey, great assistant and good to have a title winner back who also proved his worth through some dark times with us

JT, who knows but one of the best defenders in my lifetime so if he can coach half of his talent into these lot then I'm all for it

But there may be some surprise at Terry's decision after he revealed in a podcast last week that he would not go back to management unless it was for his beloved Chelsea, though admittedly he has taken up an assistant position at Leicester rather than the number one job.

"Yeah I'm done from a managerial point of view," he said on Stephen Hendry's Cue Tips. "The only job I'd kind of come out of retirement for would be the Chelsea job. To be involved in some sort of capacity in a first-team role.

"I love my role at the minute. I've got a bit of work with the younger players and I think as well because I've been through that process as a kid myself I'm passing on loads of knowledge to them."

I may be making a left-field comment here but I hope Terry and Evans get on and are on the same wavelength. Even though I can't see Evans playing again he is one of the remaining senior players who is a serious influence on the squad. If the two of them can stop the defence leaking stupid goals they will give themselves a chance of scraping the points they need.

Pearson always spoke about the importance of having a British core to the team and the current squad has drifted away from this. The defence communicating properly with eachother and the goalkeeper is critical. Maybe Faes is a better English speaker than Soyuncu, who apparently spoke no English when he arrived?

The more I think about this the more positive I am becoming. What is past is past. Time to move on and get fully behind the team and the management. Same goes for the summer too let’s address that when we come to it. COYB. 🦊💙🦊

This is the shit thing about hope and Leicester City.

I watched the worst shower of excrement I've ever seen on Saturday against Bournemouth. It was dross, it was abysmal. It was a disgrace.

But then watching Leeds get stuffed on Sunday, I was thinking... 'Ooooh Hello.'

Then all the stuff about Marsch, and now Degeneration X managing us until the end of the season... I can't help but be 1% optimistic, **** it. It's more like 50% optimistic.

It's the reality that hurts, when we're in that stand on the last game of the season and Declan Rice scores from 35 years, relegating us. Thats when it'll hurt.

Oh football you romantic.

Sees it as an opportunity to prove him self and take over once Lampard gets fired?

Like I said to you elsewhere, it's a week too late for me BUT after Man City there's 9 points from 3 winnable games and we're only 2 from safety despite everything.

Let's hope there's a bounce. Hope Shakey remembers how shit Amartey is and that we get a formation that gives us a chance of winning.

...that is the same Amartey who played DCM, right back and now centre half!!!

He is doing his bit for this club, if he does not meet the standards then don't play him, but we continue to do so.

 Don't blame the player.

I’ll get behind them, but I can’t see us surviving this season. Will be better than the great escape IMO if we pull it off from the dire position we have put ourselves in on and off the pitch

We're not rooted to the bottom of the table, we're two points from safety with some favourably fixtures coming up. It just takes a few results to pull us out.

The problem is that there's a very good chance that we'll be at least 4 and possibly 5 points off safety after this weekend's fixtures. We have mission impossible at Man City, whilst Everton play a free falling Fulham team at home, and Leeds face a very flakey Liverpool side at Elland Road. Being 2 wins from safety with 7 games to go will really ramp up the pressure on the team - and I'm not sure they have the mental strength to deal with that on past form.

Doubting we will stay up we will have to avoid loosing more than twice in my opinion. 3 wins and 2 / 3 draws or 4 wins..

However I'd take this new management set up if are to be relegated. An immediate promotion would be essential..

I’ve gone yes and no although it’s really yes and undecided.

Considering what was available to us I’m happy with them coming in. It’s obviously wait and see to see if they can actually turn this around.

Yep

Needed to be interim

Needed to not be Marsch

Needed to get rid of Rodgers much much sooner but can’t change that now

Pretty much as good as we’ll get with the stage of the season and where we are

Think we’ll go down as the damage is fairly embedded but gives us a chance and a fresh look at what to do for the longer term according to our circumstances in the summer

It's all good mate, you only need to post a full public apology on this page when we stay up.

Faes speaks English as well as you and me.
